Interesting, I made a simple outline of the original NXT (blue) and a similar outline of the Trace version being constructed (red). I then normalized lengths from the firewall split line & overlayed to compare. It seems to support what I thought my eyes were telling me - the Trace vertical fin looks taller, different hinge line & P51-ish dorsal extension on the front? Im sure my outlining method isnt super accurate because of the photo angle etc. Or... maybe they are pumping out distorted jpegs to keep the modelers off balance . Cool plane though, would make a nice model.

I am in the process of building a 1550mm wingspan Nemesis NXT...The plans were designed by my friend Frankie Valent in Slovakia...

The Trace racer is different in almost every dimension from a stock NXT. The vertical stabilizer is much taller, the fuse is narrower, cowl is different etc.

None of the guys involved with the Nemesis NXT are in the hobby business. The designer, John Sharp wants $25K to license it for hobby use. The owner of the Relentless Racing Nemesis has an aviation / consulting company. His company imports the Sbach aerobatic planes and he does sell a flat-plate foamy of the Sbach 342 on his website but I doubt he's selling may of those.

I figure you'd have to sell about 500 kits just to pay the license fee. That's if you can get a factory in China to make them for you and you import them by the container full. Then of course you have to cover all of your startup / prototype costs..

I know that the laser cutting, balsa, and ply just for my one-off cost $160.00 That doesn't include covering, sheeting, composite components (cowl, canopy, and CF rods), decals, and hardware... all of which would come with a typical ARF. And, let’s not forget the labor to put it all together!

I now know why domestically-made kits cost what they do... and I don't even think there are any domestically-made ARF's.

If you are referring to the "NEMESIS 52" that they list, that is a knock-off of John Sharp's original Nemesis and is not the Nemesis NXT.

Yeah, it's sort of an odd hybrid...

That is one strange looking bird. Definitely not a Nemesis NXT, or Nemesis DR-1.

Hello All Racers,

yes is been a long time but now we are ready,

we have now in the Moment:

Nemesis Formula one 270 cm Wingspan for 150 ccm gas-engine (106 inch for 10 cui)
Nemesis Formula one 158 cm Wingspan for Electric ore 10 ccm (62 inch for E ore ,60 cui)
Nemesis NXT Sport 260 cm Wingspan for 150-222 ccm (102 inch for 10-15 cui)
Nemesis NXT Electric 158 cm Wingspan for Electric ore 10 ccm (62 inch for E ore ,60 cui)

And now comes the best.......... the Brand Nemesis and Nemesis NXT is legal tu use for us. Jon Sharp give us the rights of using his design, Trademarks and his Name. I thank him for that and this is quit great for us so our planes not only look and fly like the original, we can name it also legal Nemesis and NXT. Hope you like it.

Hello all Racers,

we had a hard time get the Retract and the CG matched, after a couple bad landings and Flip overs, we find the perfect constellation. Nemesis NXT Gasilone 150 ccm with 260 cm Wingspan 200 cm Fuselengt and about 17 Kilo weight....

See on Myvideo: http://www.myvideo.de/watch/8084435/...ht_and_landing

Great plane................
