Guys,

Talked to Airborne Models Today. The new Hawker Tempest should be here in January. Already have a couple on order.

If anyone wants one, let me know. I am a dealer for World Models kits. Retail price should be approx $279.99

James I keep telling myself it's just a airplane, lolo since there is only 1 race at our field this year seems like Sac. is the place to go. It's had it's maiden about a month ago and it flew OK, needs a few adjustments. Not used to 4 stroke engines and have alot to learn about them, but yes I'm going to race it and thanks for the compliment

Babe, I think the Sac group has 5 races on the books next year, maybe we need to talk to Steve and see if we can add a race or two here at home.. We love going up to Sac, the guys are a hoot. Good to hear about the maiden, I just finish sanded all the parts for my two Macchis and will begin covering tomorrow. Not sure when we will get some sun but as soon as we do I will be shooting promer on the fuses to find all the areas I missed.

Morgan Hill is only going to have one race in October . Fresno is going to have a race April 9th I think which should be the weekend after Sacramento.

They are going to run the 46 Warbird, 75 Warbird, 120 Warbird adn Unlimited rules.

I'm building a new P-47 for next year. Same plane just a little lighter. Same scheme. Both planes will have YS115 engines. So we can continue to break out LOL.
Kevin, I know of a field down here that wants to host some racing events, If you are interested please give me a call. Only interested in running your rules. I sure wish you guys had more races at Morgan Hill. Had fun there!

Happy Holidays to All!!!

Ok after more hours then I want to admit to I have both wings covered and hinged. I am so over round wingtips. I could knock out 85% of the wing in 15 min and then that darned tip took over an hour. Getting really stoked at this point. Hope I get some dry weather after Christmas to get some painting done.

Dave,

Fresno has locked in a race on April 9th(Saturday) with the same rules. Morgan Hill is set I believe for the 1st weekend of October. There is a possibility of a 3rd race in August. Working on the details now. Imissed all the races this year so I plan on making a few now that my health is better.

Iam not running any of the races, just trying to promote them. I am working on some major sponsorship for our 75 Warbird class to boost the class. Should be good. Hope things work out.

That sounds good Kevin. If I'm in town I plan to attend all of the above mentioned races.

Be Well.

They said at the meeting the other night that Sacs first race is May 1st. And I also heard 6 races. Unless they are counting the 2 day event as 2 races. Don't know.

There were five races scheduled in the "regular" series. These races are four 1-day races and one 2-day race.
(These races are still pending Board approval. We should know if all these are approved after Jan. 6th.)

The sixth race you are thinking of is Dale Kral's "Two Minute Tango."

Sounds like its going to be a great year for racing! Now if only the rain would go away long enough for me to shoot some paint. I have both wings completly finished and ready to fly but fuses are still sitting with naked glass.

Man Kevin if that were only the case. In addition to to the Macchis I have my own self designed Pattern airplane halfway built, another IMAC airplane 1/3 built and an old ( 1974 ) Bucker Jungmeister kit 1/2 framed up. Not to mention the 46% Ultimate assemble and a Comp ARF 330 repair job. Maybe you need to hang out at my place for a few days?? He He

You have those imperfections also? I thought I was the only one that had those... Getting tired of this rain, need to fly more and get used to flying the new Macchi.. Shawn have you had a chance to look at that stuff James was going to use, Liguid Sheeting? Looks pretty good and easy to use but why do you want to go through all the trouble to paint a race plane, even though I did lolol but the next one will be Monokoat or some type of covering to keep it light

To be honest Babe I think it would take me longer to Monokote the plane than to paint it. I will let you know when I order the Liquid sheeting and have applied it, maybe I will make it a show and tell.

Well I will stick to my glass and resin. I like the idea of adding strength while I seal the wood. Still won't hold up to being T boned though lol. I would have loved to use film covering but considering the cowl, canopy and front upper decks are glass, painting is really the only option. Even though it looks like the 61 powered Macchi will be around 7 lbs. The good news is with all this rain, I finished up and test flew an ARF Bucker Jungman today and have my scratch built 2M pattern airplane all framed up. Just need to cut some wings now.

The SAM's first race is scheduled (pending approval of the BOD) for April 3rd. I'll try to post the dates once approved for all 5 races in the series and the Tango race.

Seems like alot of things are happening already in April, Fresno is having a Warbird race on the 9th of April, There's a float fly at the Eagles Rouge River club in Oregon April 15th -17th and now the Sac. race on the 3rd. Going to be a very busy month if I can make ALL of them. Getting tired of this rain and cold weather already, makes for some dreary days

Racewizard.... one step at a time.... start with the SAM race on the 3rd.... call it a warm up for the 9th in Fresno, then unwind with some float flying mid month in Oregon.... if you've done your taxes by then.

And if you are really ambitious, you can come to Hesperia on the 23rd for our RCPRO Warbird race.
