I went to the Modelfly website. They are still listed there. 'course the website IS in Italian.
http://www.arcmodelfly.it/galleggianti-per-idrovolante
running the description thru the "Google Language tools" translator I get:
Floats for Ready, Cessna 177 and Beaver. We must ask the September attacks specifically for each model.
Our production has reached its climax with the floats. Indeed, the material used does not have problems with the water and is very resistant to impact. The floats are designed for models with engines from 40 or 60 and a weight between 2.8 and 3.8 kg.
The kit contains floats with the basic accessories for the assembly. Apart from the need to order specific set of attacks for each model.
ARC31-Ready; ARC32-Universal; ARC34 - Cessna 177; ARC35-Beaver

I guess i should have titled this thread where can i get Modelfly floats in the US?
I went to the website you had listed and it seemed like everywhere but the US.
They had one link to the US hobbypeople but when you go there it sends you off to a foreign country. Norway i think.

Hobby People in Orange, CA have a set on the shelf as of Saturday the 17th. You might try calling that store (714/288-8170) and see if they can ship them to you. Glad I have 2 new sets in the garage!!

Well i called them on Monday. Won't mention i talked to some guy named Lynn. And he told me they don't have them. He seemed a little confused about it. I think he was looking thru the plastic model planes but maybe not. I then called the 1800 number and they told me that the Orange county store had them but would take between two andd three weeks for a store transfer. Seemed a little to long for my taste. So i canceled the order for the beaver and the float fittings for it.
Thanks anyways for the help.

Well as of today Hobby People is listing the floats again but on back order. A little late now as the Beaver is no longer on sale. Oh well i did'nt really need another plane anyways. Kind of wish i did'nt cancel the order though. It is a nice looking airplane on floats though.

One more time:
If you go to the (italian) site of the manufacturer, first it shows that they accept all major US credit cards. You can email them and see if they will sell/ship direct. If you go to the map it pops up a link for hobbypeople USA, but if you click on THAT link you get the British supplier.
THEIR website plainly says:
* We ship worldwide at very low shipping costs! *
Most X-treme Composite models Free Shipping within Europe!
All ARC kits shipped World Wide at NO EXTRA COSTS!
No extra Tax will be added here or at arrival, and shipping is free!
They also accept US credit cards.
So finding a Beaver and some floats is merely an exercise of sending some emails and asking the question.
It might take 2-3 weeks from europe, but what's the significance of that in the overall grand scheme? (Or in Tennessee, we say "What's time to a pig?" )
If you want it you can get it, just maybe not with a local phone call in Calif.
I've been on this forum for years and nobody ever said anything negative about the Modelfly planes or the floats. It might be worth the extra wait. (And some extra bucks- with the current exchange rate).

Just a little chicken to send my credit card thru a foreign country. Which is why i wanted to get it from Hobby People. At least they are a company i've dealt with. Oh well it's not like i needed another airplane anyways.
Thanks anyways

Well we will now see. I ordered the plane the floats, the fittings and the water rudder from hobby people. Don't have a clue how long the floats will be backordered for. Checked the box to have them ship everything at once instead of seperately. And e-mailed them to see if i could get the sale price on the plane. No answer yet on the e-mail but it is Saturday. so maybe Monday.

Well as of yesterday the plane and floats along with all the fittings arrived. Was starting to have my doubts but it did make it.
Jim Casey as far as using the website you listed for me for the floats. The price was to much for my taste. They wanted 132.00 for the floats.

When you construct your ARC airplane I suggest that you SCORE all glue areas. The instructions say to lightly sand but SCORING forms a better glue joint. Also when you put the floats togeather : there are small pins (plastic ) that are pressed into the float for the mounts to screw into, put lots of glue in the holes and be sure to SCORE the pins. The extra glue in the holes should expand out into the holes to give more structure to the pins and float surface. ( it's just foam inside )
I've constructed every one of the ARC planes and 2 or 3 of some and still have some of them and they are GREAT planes and with a little thought during construction and a little care when done they will last a long time. My Ready is about 10 years old or so.
I check in here every few days and if I can help just leave a note and I'll try, as I said I've done all the ARC / Modelfly planes a nd even some you haven't seen. You will LOVE them. ENJOY !!! RED

Let's see if i have this right Red.
1 Your Ready was painted with Midwest polyurethane color Orange.
2 You donated a Modelfly plane to the Skymasters float fly.
3 You broke your landing gear on your ready at the skymaster float fly.
4 this happened approx. Six years ago in Brighton Michigan
Now do i have the same Red?

The Ready was Yellow, the Beaver was International Orange trimed and yes I did push the Ready a bit and broke the front mount ,but it flew the next day.
Yes you do have the right Red. GEE you can't even hide by leaving the state.
So did you end up with the Beaver or something else? I still have both of mine but don't fly much off water anymore, to far to drive and besides I stay to busy and don't usually fly on weekends anymore.
You should enjoy what ever Modelfly plane you got, I know I have. ENJOY !!! RED

I've got the Beaver now. Haven't flown off water in quite a few years. I've been using my float planes off of snow. Been practicing and flying Pattern the last bunch of years. Haven't had time to fly off the water. I'm hoping that will change this year.
Thanks for the tips on the assembly part of it. Haven't decided on an engine yet. it's narrowed down between a 46FX and a 46LA. I have both engines and like the idea of a bushing engine. Especially the limited amount of time i will fly it in the summer and winter. But i'm not sure if the LA will be up to the power. Any thoughts.
Thanks

CORRECTION CORRECTION : I must be color blind in memory, I went out to the shop and the Ready turned Orange
or at least sort of orange, I'd say it's more of a yellowish orange, anyway you have a real good memory.
I'm not a big fan of the LA engines on anything other then trainers ( I like them there ) so I guess I would go with the FX. Now if you had one of the new 55's that could be real neat. I have one Beaver with a 46 FX and it does fine, I have another with a Megatech 46 and it hasn't been my favorite ( yet ). Of course it hasn't had near as much run time.
I've also gone to 11x5 props on the FX and they are fine, maybe the Megatech just doesn't like 11x5's. ENJOY !!! RED
