RE: Control Line simulator

Southern Hemisphere......check out this web site. It's mostlly for R/C, but they do have a control line version. The scenery and graphics are the most realistic I've ever seen on a computer program....

RE: Is this engine of interest?

Looks very interesting to me, David. Do you have any idea what the cost would be per engine?

Good luck and keep us posted here on this diesel lovers web site!

What Was It?

Back in the 50's my brother and I got a 1/2A u-control plane kit that included an engine fitted with speed control...the first I had seen. The engine was fitted with a small rubber bellows, and a...

RE: Custom CL plane building

I talked to Walter a couple of months ago, and he was in the process of moving to Florida. He said he would be out of the building business for at least a year....or until he could build a new...

RE: Crazy4RC

George, count me in! I've been trying for months to acquire a TNC tach. I look forward to seeing and hearing about what you come up with.

Tachometers

Someone told me a few months ago (I think it was on this forum) that the TNC was the best and most accurate tachometer available, so I set out to find one. I managed to find that the rights had been...

RE: Small Spitfire Engines

Mention of the Atwood reminded me that this was my first successful engine. I put it on a 4-Bullets (anyone remember those?) and flew the heck out of it. My brother got a Wen-Mac at the same time I...

RE: Latest creation

Hobbsy....what a beautiful ship! Hope it flies as good as it looks.

DieselDan...where did you find the ARF Senior Telemaster? I've wanted one for a long time, but Hobby Lobby told me that they...

RE: Brodak Control Line ARF's

Sam, the Smoothie interests me a lot. They were one of the top stunt ships back in my c/l heyday. I never owned one, but maybe it's not too late. Any idea when they will be available? I see that they...

RE: Why are diesels not more popular?

Interesting point about the VW diesels, DieselDan. I had a VW Rabbit back in the mid-80's, and it was the most fuel efficient and least repair intensive car I've ever owned. It gave a consistent...

Brodak Control Line ARF's

Has anyone seen any of the new Brodak ARF's? I understood they were going to be shipping this month.

RE: McCoy .049 & .09 diesels

One of my favorite plane/engine combos around the early 50's was a Jim Walker Firebaby with a McCoy .049 diesel. I was just a kid with no transportation, so it was easy to get this combo to the local...

Fitting a prop

I was recently advised that a good prop for my brand new MVVS 2 diesel would be a Graupner gray 8x4. I ordered one and it just arrived today. When I tried to fit it to the engine, I was dismayed to...

RE: General Questions on Diesel use

All you diesel users out there.....what are your favorite brands of props to use on diesels? I was advised that the gray Graupner props were excellent, but I can't find a source for them locally or...

RE: Help with MVVS

Thanks for the info, HMAS. Someone told me that the MVVS diesels were high rpm speed engines, and not as suitable for a slow, lugging application as a PAW. Since I'm not a speed merchant, perhaps I'd...

RE: Help with MVVS

I have an MVVS diesel (R/C version) that I bought from Ed Carlson a few years ago. It has never been run, and there are no instructions in the box. The engine is identified on the box as an MVVS 2....

RE: Engine offset on profile fuselage

Jim, why don't you use engine offset on profiles? What method do you use to maintain line tension? Leadout rake? Rudder offset?

Engine offset on profile fuselage

While browsing for C/L sites, I saw a tapered plate for use on profile fuselage planes to set engine offset. Now I've got a Top Flite Flite Streak ARF and would like to buy one of those tapered...

RE: Control Line Handles?

Yep, the E-Z-Just is the handle I remember well......just didn't remember the name of it, which is an unfortunate side effect of the "Golden Years".

While digging through a box of old C/L...

I have been looking for a good, adjustable control line handle....something like the old Sullivan (I think) red plastic handles from the 50's and 60's. I found a link to Edom Enterprises and a stunt...

RE: Please suggest a model

My Flite Streak ARF arrived a few days ago, and I'm well pleased with it....especially at the price. Must be making them in China?

Since it has been nearly 45 years since I've flown C/L, and...
