I use old Carbon arrow shafts from work to make pushrods out of. CA and zip-tie a short length of wire to it
so you can put them in...

Here are some pics of the trainer as it nears completion.

Couple of things to look at if you get one.

Nose gear - use longer / better screws to hold it to the firewall.

Check glue...

Its not a SPAD.

It is a SHRIKE. The pic is right from the TOWER catalog (P.51 Middle left)

I just cut about a dozen Stepped poly firewalls tonight .
Took about 10 min to do once i had the set up done.

Heres what i ended up with:

Outside step: 2.550"
Inside step: 2.380"

Ok... Been there too... I will try to help you as best as i can.

First thing is TAKE YOUR TIME!!! Rushing is the worse thing you can do while building a SPAD.

Fixed the wing by dripping CA intothe gaps from the wing end.
The fumes from the CA ina confined space are really bad...Making me sneeze, and burning my eyes.

Dremel is a waste of time on cutting board.

Coping saw is easiest.. Trim the corners with a razor blade..

What kind of problems are you having with it? The stuff is pretty easy to work with, even with hand tools.

It's not expensive, a piece of aircraft plywood will...

Ive been using a coping saw to cut it and it works great. Used it on the PVC too, much cleaner than a dremel!!
