The limited manual that they did provide specifically states " Do not run in on bench"

The run in bench is GOLD! Especially if you don't have telemetry gear in your car.

Being able to know the exact temperature and adjust it quickly and easily is the key to a perfect run in.

A little secret for all of you. On almost any surface...if you use a permanent marker, you can erase it easily by drawing over thetop of it with a whiteboard (Dry Erase) marker. it will remove it...
