Whatever you do, do not use an electric starter on it or any diesel. You will inevetibly bend the rod when it gets to much fuel and partially hydraulic locks. Been there, done that.

wood is fine for the age of the kit, all formers and ribs were there still in the sheets. Did not seem to have the strip or sheeting I would think for planking the fuelage or wing leading edge but...

OK, I got a ride in an STA back in the seventies and a another friend traded a Stearman for an STM in dutch military markings. I wondered if it was an STM, USAAC or another country?

Something interesting in those photos, that particular STA has a roll over post in the front windscreen. I can't remember seeing one on any other STA.
