RE: heli-max novus 125 cp up-graded head

Very shiny. Is the CNC kit overall heavier or lighter than the stock plastic? I just got mine last week and already I'm looking at what I can upgrade. After having my T-Rex 450 throw everything...

RE: misbehaving trex collective on new battery

No ideas? Come on guys. I've been looking around all I have found so far is some people have glitching and have to remove the idler pulley. But that's a tail first thing, that really doesn't seem...

misbehaving trex collective on new battery

I love my t-rex and she's given me a lot of good flights but after wearing out my original 2 lipos I bought a new one and now it's behaving, well weird. I wonder if someone has had the same issues...

RE: Leaky supervee?

Well that was weird. Batteries, Rx, and ESC seem ok, and the servo it seems went bad for a completely different reason.
I took it apart to see what I could see and discovered that the pot it uses...

RE: Leaky supervee?

Yeah, but I thought the whole idea of the radio box was to keep those components dry. There might as well be no box at all.
As it turns out it seems like the Rx and ESC are fine, but the servo's...

RE: Leaky supervee?

I made my first run yesterday and while she was fast and all I see what was meant by being trimmed too far aft. I guess to move the CG forward a bit I'll have to cut away at the wood ribs inside to...

RE: Leaky supervee?

I can understand water splashing in and such, I just didn''t expect it to be seeping in through the fittings, which it obviously was as I could watch it slowly drip out again when the boat was out of...

RE: Leaky supervee?

Thanks, it sounds like it might not cause a problem but definitely shouldn't be that way. Just sitting still after about 2 minutes there's a couple tablespoons worth of water that's seeped in. For...

Leaky supervee?

I just bought a Supervee27 and stuck it in the tub to see how it floats and noticed that it's taking on water. There's no visible flaws in the hull so I think it's coming in around the prop drive. ...

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread

Cool I guess I'm in the clear then. it'll just stink a bit in the room whenever I work on the car. Well.. it'll stink _more_.
Damn this car is fun to drive, I shouldn't have dropped the hobby 20...

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread

Hey, I'm just starting into the TT-01 scene and am ripping my new baby open to put a new 19T motor in it and figured I should grease the gearbox while I'm in there. I see everywhere mention of...

RE: Massive drain, can't even fly 5 minutes?

After each flight the ESC was pretty warm but not so hot I couldn't hold my finger on it for as long as I wanted. motor was about the same, and the battery was noticeably warmer than ambient but...

RE: Massive drain, can't even fly 5 minutes?

Yay. She's flying fine thanks to the changes everyone suggested. I flew her through a few battery charges at a fun-fly today and she's happy and as a result so am I. Man does this beast fly...

RE: So how much wind is too much wind?

Well yeah I guess there is the angle that it can be more fun flying the SS since you know if the wind really catches it you won't be out several hundred dollars when it crashes.

RE: So how much wind is too much wind?

Yeah I guess whether it's gusty or not and how laminar the wind is can have a big impact. Last year at a local "airshow" the wind was pretty hefty but steady but it looked like the TRexs were...

So how much wind is too much wind?

Question to everyone who's fairly comfortable with their TRexs, how bad do you find the wind can get before it's too much of a pain flying to be fun?
I was just curious as I'm only getting used to...

RE: Massive drain, can't even fly 5 minutes?

Wonders never cease, my friend ran the battery through a balancer and it seems ok again.
I regeared to the 11T, changed the throttle curve to 0-40-80-95-100, reprogrammed for mid timing and...

RE: Massive drain, can't even fly 5 minutes?

Well I need a new battery anyway :P so just to change things up I'll go with something serious this time and go for something that can handle at least 20C as suggested so 30 amps will be nothing...

RE: Massive drain, can't even fly 5 minutes?

The motor's the 3200 kV 420LF that came in the kit and according to the manual should take the 13T which is why I was flying, or trying to fly, with that pinion.

RE: Massive drain, can't even fly 5 minutes?

Well whatever the original problem was the battery's completely dead now. There's plenty of gap between the pinion and main gear and the belt is tightened per the manual, as in I can push one side...

RE: Massive drain, can't even fly 5 minutes?

Thanks all.
I honestly don't know what brand the battery is, there's no name on it, the guy at my hobby shop recommended this one to me and it's brand new, I sure hope it isn't damaged or bad but...

RE: Massive drain, can't even fly 5 minutes?

The main rotor and belt are nice and free, but I didn't know lipos needed to stretch their legs, if all else fails I will just go through a few charge cycles and see if it persists.

Massive drain, can't even fly 5 minutes?

I've just finished putting my Trex together and was hovering to trim her out for flight but she's perfoming absolutely awfully. I can't keep it in the air more that about 4 minutes just hovering a...

RE: Just how loose should ball links be?

Cool, thanks for the replies, looks like I need to secure a sizing tool and get to work on the ball links.
