RE: Gary Allen 33% Bücker Jungmeister

I thought that there was a bit much throw, which made it a bit twitchy. So I'll try a bit more expo-how much do you use?

Thanks,

Kelvin

RE: Gary Allen 33% Bücker Jungmeister

Just wondering what control throws you are using on your 1/3 scale Jungmeisters-I have set up the throws listed on the plans and they looked like too much. After the first flight (which was...

RE: The new MASTERPIECE: OS 200FS

I have flown the OS 200FS on an old Byron Pipe Dream we use as a Test bed. Lets say it flies it as well as the OS 160(2stroke non-pumped) a hell of a lot better than a Quadra 32, better than an OS...

RE: All you Gee Bee people reply!

I think RCM still sell the plan for the 1/5 scale R2 (and the Z as well), don't know about the fiberglass though...

RE: Saito 300, Does it fit the World Models 80" Extra 300S ??

My Extra flew OK, but it's a bit heavy (I got it from an auction site about 70% built i.e. wings skinned etc, about all I needed to do was to paint the fuselage and install the gear, so there wasn't...

RE: Suggest airplane for YS110

I'd have to second the scratch built Krier Kraft (from RCM plans), I have one (with an OS 120) weighing about 7 lbs or so. It will accelerate vertically.

RE: Saito 300, Does it fit the World Models 80" Extra 300S ??

I shall go and measure the width of my Saito, it isn't in a Extra though...it's in my Jungmeister.
From a quick check with the ruler I'd say that 234 mm wide (rocker cover to rocker cover) would be...

RE: Inverted 4 stroke on a Four Star?

We are running an inverted OS 120 SIII pump in a RCM Krier Kraft, we started initially using 5% Nitro 18%synthetic oil, it ran but not great idle, added onboard glow which helped, then went to 10%...

RE: In this hobby what was your favourite moment

So far...it probably has to be the first flight of my Gee Bee, if just to prove that yes, you can actually fly one of those things. Hard to explain exactly why a first flight is such an experience,...

RE: 27% extra 300L Wing load ??

Depends. I've had a 84" extra 300S (I'm not totally sure what scale that is, about 25%??) that weighed about 16 lbs dry. I had a BGX (20x10W APC prop) in it and although it had adequate vertical it...

RE: Quadra 32?

I've used one-it was in a Byron pipe dream, it went quite well, ran nicely, if quite loudly. I used an 18-6 and a 20-6 on it (this was the Q-35). The plane weighed about 16-17 pounds, span about 80"....

RE: Sukhoi 26/29 plans

Thanks for the info, sorry I didn't reply back earlier. I'm still thinking about what I'll do after I finish at least one of the several models that are in a semi finished state at the moment...

RE: Gary Allen 33% Bücker Jungmeister

Thanks for the info re. the wing attachments/rigging, Big_Bird, it sounds good. I'm hoping to finish it off next month, when I have the time to really make an impact on all those small yet time...

RE: Gary Allen 33% Bücker Jungmeister

I've got a 33% Jungmeister covered, "almost" ready to go, just need to finish off the cowl and undercarriage and it's done. I recently tested a Saito 300TTDP in another model (Byron Pipe Dream) and...

RE: All you Gee Bee people reply!

Nice plane. I'm thinking about building one, but time looks like being a problem for me for a while...Or if I actually want another Gee Bee. I'm also considering designing a 1/4 scale model Y using...

RE: All you Gee Bee people reply!

I did the first flight on my Page R2 (1/5 scale) last Thursday, quite a choice for the first "maiden flight" you do. It was no problem though, aside from the engine overheating (we think, so for the...

Sukhoi 26/29 plans

I am looking at building a Sukhoi from either the RCM plans (Su-26, plan no. 1074) or the MAN plans (Su-29). I would be using an OS BGX for power. From searching the forum, it would appear that the...

RE: Gary Allen 33% Bücker Jungmeister

I've done 95% of the work (with 95% to go) ;) on a 33% Jungmeister, and it's getting to the point where I'm going to have to put an engine in it. Hence the hard choice that I now have to make. When I...

RE: So what exactly is building??

I choose to build in order to have a completely unique model. It might just be me, but most of the ARF's simply do not interest me, with the exception of the high quality 35-40% aerobatic models,...

RE: Which is stronger, OS FT-300 or Saito 300?

I have been running a OS 300 (Super Gemini) in a Balsa USA FlyBaby Bipe turns a 20x10 prop on 5%nitro and 18% castor about 7000 rpm, goes great, only time it gives a problem is if it needs new plugs...

RE: OS Twin FT-160 & FT-300 Oil From Breather Nipple.

Have flown OS 300 FT in 1/3rd Flybaby Bipe for 10yrs, with onboard glow, only time it flames out is if it needs new plugs (OS F), sure it does put a fair bit of oil out breather, but nothing like as...

RE: Need OS Gemini Info

I've seen a FT300 (the twin) flying in a balsa USA Flybaby bipe (weighs around 20 pounds) Goes really well. Not unlimited vertical by any means, but certainly adequate i.e. better than "scale" power...

RE: Reflex XTR and the Futaba 9CAP

Mine runs fine, but when I first got reflex I got the plug to fit an FF7 (spare radio) and it would not work well at all. On the reflex site it says something about the impedance in the module being...
