RE: What's your pocket knife? What ya suggest to go with?

I've carried this for the past 37 years. Have lost 1, worn out 2, and trash canned 1 at airport security.

This is real life. If you are going to prank someone be prepared for the possibility of ending up on the losing end.

RE: Burned Up Motor - Post Mortem help needed

Steve:

Electric power to motors is measured in volts and amps. Motors are designed to be most efficient at a particular volt/amp combination. Within reason you can vary from these optimum...

RE: Burned Up Motor - Post Mortem help needed

Steve:

It appears that you selected a fair match of motor and ESC. The battery will work fine although a less expensive 10C would have been enough. The mismatch is the prop size. The...

RE: Mounting prop on slow stick

My understanding is that the GWS Slow Stick comes with a "prop adapter" (set screw of adapter can barely be seen in the left picture). Depending upon the prop source, you may need to ream or drill...

RE: Help needed - on Zagi BL Motor option

If your wing is an older model set up for a speed 400 motor, the easiest BL upgrade is an inrunner like the Mega 16/15/4 or the HET Typhoon 4W. These motors exactly fit the stock Zagi mount and use...

There are steps beyond setting the radio to "airplane". You will need to program the radio for "elevon mix" and tinker with various other settings. To aggravate matters, the...

Packing tape works well, but if the hinge joint is still too stiff for your liking use 3M "Blenderm" surgical tape. It is very strong and extremely flexible. It is found at some...

RE: Need advice on first Flying wing!

The bigger the wing, the slower it flies, but can handle the wind better. If you're looking for speed, go for a smaller wing (24" to 30" ) with a brushless motor. I built a stock Zagi XS and then...

RE: What are the benefits of going Lipo vs Nimhs?

OK, for an apples to apples comparison price both cell types from the same supplier. Besides, the Nimh can deliver 10c to 12c. Pick a 12c Lipo.

RE: What are the benefits of going Lipo vs Nimhs?

The other downside of Lipos is the cost. Lipos are twice (+-) the cost of a NiMh of the same mAh. Still, Lipos are the best in the long run.

Indicating the weight of your plane and HOW you want to fly (slow, aerobatic, 3D) will make a big difference in the motor/ESC/battery combination. If you are running a 5x5 prop with...

You are correct, the battery hangs outside on the "Speedwing"! Apologies, I tried to edit the error but evidently I can't do so on older posts.
