I used a 19t checkpoint on mine with the stock spur and anywhere between a 21 and 27 will be your range for the pinion. The larger spur will give you more torque but less speed. Just keep an eye on...

I was getting my race gear ready today and tried my slash wheels on my DI. They fit! Very interesting look with the SC wheels on the buggy. Might look very cool with a scale truck body....

Amainhobbies.com carries kyosho as does stormer hobbies and some others. You are correct. The A parts are next to impossible to get in the US. I usually order mine through Jason's store on ebay...
