ARF or kit?

KIT!!

SE Kit can be built 1/2 pound lighter than the ARF. Makes a big difference in this plane.

Semi-Scale which are fast

Catapult is from www.warbirdsltd.com

Kit is worth the price, Launchs just about anything but be carefull of very small planes as it's got some real power and can rip the wings of a foamy.

Semi-Scale which are fast

Put a norvel .25 in a 1/12 scale Pica P51. It looks very very fast, the small size and very clean airframe make for a fast plane. the outline is pretty scale, and it's impressive to watch fly. The...

Diamond Dust Trimming

Probably a combination balance and engine incadence.

Put a couple washers under back of the engine, and move the cg back a little. The CG on the DD is very forgiving and can be moved back an inch...

Best Trainer

Way off their, turn the controls down and use a plain bearing .40 on the 4* and it's a better primary trainer than most of those listed.

It flys as slow or slower than those listed.

It's just...

Sig 4 * Questions?

Don't eliminate the wing bay but do put in an extra hinge so that if you want to cut off a wing bay later you can.

4 Star 40 and a 4 stroke?

the 13-5 prop I use on my 4 star is a Grapner not APC, it has a much wider blade than the APC. Seems to do better verticle than APC 13-5

Good luck with your four star, you won't be disapointed...

4 Star 40 and a 4 stroke?

Getting my 4* to four pounds was easy.
[list=1] don't use too much glue
sand
dont use any epoxy, use tite bond or elmers for plywood joints, it's lighter and so strong that the wood breaks...

Easy to Fly

It's an easy plane to fly. I've got it and the Diamond Dust and both are easy to fly but fast.

The Drainstorm flys better with a .32 than a 40 as it comes out lighter. and has similar power. I...

4 Star 40 and a 4 stroke?

My 4* has a Siato .56. I use a 13-5 prop and it's got great power. My total weight is just under 4#'s . It needed 3" wheels for the 13-5, but we have a rough grass runway so it needed 3" wheels...

Sig Kobra - OS 32SX or Jett BSE .35?

I'm not the real expert here, I just got a peek while at Jeff Gilbert's place, (Jeff is the designer and mfg of the Diamond Dust). Basically the clipped wing dust is a diamond dust that has the wing...

Re: whiplash weight

I've never seen a Diamond Dust rip apart or shred from speed or grass unless it was covered with monokote or econokote. Dusts covered with ultracote (as specified in the instructions) never seem to...

Coroplast DDust/Whiplash -- Cheap Speed!

That's a nice looking coro-delta. It looks like a dust, and is cheaper but it won't fly like one. The DD has a big advantage, weight. My DD weighs 31 oz. It's 24 oz (1.5 pounds) lighter than the...

Plane Question

Dynaflite Butterfly would probably be your best choice for 3 channel beginner, it's easier to fly than most of the small park fliers and has landing gear.
