RE: Turbo Jett pressure tap

Thanks Bob,

The muffler is going on a sport jett .46 and then in a Hangar 9 Aresti. So I'm drilling at the yellow arrow in the attached image. Thanks again!

Bob, it's a 6.5 cc (.40-.60) size. I did find the shipping invoice from 2000....about time I hooked it up!

Turbo Jett pressure tap

Hi Bob,

I fished a Turbo Jett out to mount (long after any instructions were misplaced) and noticed the lack of a pressure tap. Any suggested locations to drill and mount one? Thanks again!

RE: Muffler gasket

Hey Bob...I'm side mounting the .46 SJ in a Hangar 9 Aresti. A 1.20 SJ is destined for a Fred Reese 1.20 size Cloud Dancer, but that will have to wait for some space on the work bench. Thanks for...

Muffler gasket

Hi Bob,

I purchased three older Jetts from a friend that had them squirreled away. Never flown, with various bits and pieces packed with each engine. The first one I'm going to try is a .46...

RE: Seamaster pics

Matt,
While building the SM it seemed pretty heavy, so I added the ultrathrust muffler, which adds about 1,000 rpm to the stock 46FX. After flying it, I don't think it was really needed -...

Hey Matt,

Here's my seamaster with a OS 46 FX, ultrathrust muffler, and a fiberglass specialties pod.

RE: Winter pics - Aiptek 1.3

They're all taken at high res, I just cut it back to make transfers easier. I'm using the SMT Switch that Roger (aka Wild Moose) sells with the mods he describes for hacking the switch into the...

Winter pics - Aiptek 1.3

Just a couple of shots of today's club meeting in SE Pennsylvania. Pictures taken from a hand launched SR Cutie. You can just make out a float plane being launched in the first picture.

RE: Douglas Dolphin Info Help!!

Ever since seeing an article about the last remaining Dolphin (Aeroplane Monthly, November 1993) and then finding the RCM plans I've been wanting to do one, but the RCM build looks a little...

RE: Finally in the Digital Cam game!

If you're looking for an Aiptek / electric platform, consider the SR Cutie! Takes seconds to rubber band the cam under the wing, plenty of space in the fuse for wiring, can easily handle the extra 2...

RE: Seacruiser II

Would anyone have a set of instructions (or a copy of) for the .25 Seacruiser? I found a kit with the plans, but no instructions. I'll gladly pay for them! All this talk has me itching to put it...

RE: Seamaster Engine

I had the very same concern while building one from a kit that I powered with the 46FX. I got nervous as there's some heavy construction involved! I ended up putting an UltraThrust muffler on the...

RE: Carl <span class=

If the struts are built and attached as per the plans they are for looks only and provide no structural support. That can only lead to trouble if you fly with them on. If you work out a better...

Thanks!

Tony and Wra - thanks for the input! After considering "20 in. props" and "flying heavy" I think I'll save the Moki 1.35 for a better suited airframe and slap a spare Brison 2.4 I have on this one. ...

RE: Why so pudgey?

This is a new to me aircraft that a buddy built. I think I already have the weight down to 15 lbs. by using a different scale. The builder used plenty of tri stock and did'nt skimp on the epoxy. ...

Ever swap a Moki 1.5 for a Moki 1.35?

I'm trying to improve the performance of an overweight Lanier Stinger 120. It's currently sporting an older Moki 1.5 and weighs close to 16 lbs. I could improve the grunt with a fresh Moki 1.8 but...

RE: giant scale skis

I hate to send you on a goose hunt, but Dubro used to sell aluminum snowbird skis in large. The're rated for up to 30 lbs. and are 24 by 3 1/2 inches. I found a set on Ebay which I'm bolting to a...

RE: macs pro one piece muffler for 46 engine

I've used the Mac's one piece mufflers on a number of engines. The engines typically pull the same RPM as they did with a stock muffler with the baffle removed. It can't hurt to try it!

Power Panel Chargers?

I'll second the Hobbico MkII field charger in lieu of a power panel. It will also quick charge a single cell glow clip, which eliminates the need for using the power panel to light your glow plug. ...
