RE: The new electric YAK 54 from Greatplanes!

Hey Mikey, where do you fly at? It looks like we don't live too far apart.

RE: The new electric YAK 54 from Greatplanes!

So did you go with the 22S like what bzyguy is using, or the 28S? I'm planning on the 22S myself.

RE: The new electric YAK 54 from Greatplanes!

I think they recommended the 950 for a reason. You stated in a previous thread that the Yak WOULD actually hover and pull out with the 950, albeit slowly....with the structural failures that we've...

RE: The new electric YAK 54 from Greatplanes!

Good deal, thanks again!

Btw, you mentioned that the Hacker Yak liked the APC 'E' prop best...was this an 11x7 as well?

RE: The new electric YAK 54 from Greatplanes!

bzyguy,

Thanks a bunch for all the research and test results! It sure sounds like the Hacker is the way to go on this, so I suppose I'll go ahead and snag one. I'm a bit curious how the Rimfire...

RE: The new electric YAK 54 from Greatplanes!

Hi bzyguy01

Have you ever tried the Hacker A30-16M? What do you think about the possibility of using that one in the Yak versus the 22S.....would it be too much power for the airframe to take?...

RE: The new electric YAK 54 from Greatplanes!

I'm new and still quite confused on motor ratings....so what am I missing here? I keep hearing people say that the performance is less than ideal with the recommended Rimfire 35-30-950 outrunner, and...

RE: Great Planes 41" YAK 54 Elevator Issues

bzyguy01,

Did you ever check to see which motor it is that you're using? 16M?

Thanks,
Dave

RE: Separate gyro and Rx

Yes, It's a Futaba 9CHP.... a (9) channel - (C)omputer - (H)eli - (P)CM. It's got the synthesizer module so you can select whatever channel you want to use via a couple of trimpot-style microswitches...

RE: Separate gyro and Rx

Thanks, I don't know why that hadn't occurred to me. I'm pretty new to electric r/c, and all I've actually dealt with so far are the 3 and 4-in-1 units, so that's where my mind was at. As for radios,...

Separate gyro and Rx

So, I've got a complete airframe w/Esky servos sitting here. I also have a couple of micro 6ch recievers (a Dynam and an Align) sitting here doing nothing, as well as a Telebee HH piezo gyro. All I'm...

RE: Rappy 90 with the new YS engine

I used to run a YS .46 in a plane years ago....it was the best engine I had used, smooth, troublefree, and powerful. I wish they made one for the .30 size helis.

RE: HeliMax MX400 CCPM heli "build" thread

Entropy,

Where are you now at on your new MX450? Has it flown? Any other observations that you'd care to share? I'm considering one of these myself, the Tower deal is a killer. I'd love to hear...
