RE: What worked and didn't on your progression to CP

Honestly, I started on the E-Flite Blade CP Pro (Original) and I have only crashed 4 times in 2 years. No, I don't do inverted or anything crazy, just fly around normally, but it's really not THAT...

RE: CP Pro 2

I would definitely recommend taking a digital caliper and measuring the distance between the paddles and the hub on both sides and make sure they are as near perfect as possible. I had this same...

Blade CP Pro Flybar

Since I got the Blade CP Pro 2 years ago I have been fighting with the thing. I could fly it, but it just seemed so hard, even inside. After balancing everything I still had a very noticeable head...

RE: Got a hawk for $35.00

It will be the same as your monster truck. I actually have one of these helicopters that I got when I was a kid. it came only as a kit and my initial setup was perfect. Unfortunately, I crashed it...

RE: Thinking of taking the plunge

yes the g3 controller is USB. I have no idea why anybody would ever try to use a PS3 controller with it unless they were pirating G3. If you did do that route then you will still not be comfortable...

RE: Thinking of taking the plunge

I don't think anybody will last a year without a crash, it's just the nature of the game.

But ya, for wear, the ball caps wear, but they're cheap. Servos wear and die, motors, speed controls (if...

RE: Heli pic's

I love the 4 and 5 blade setups. It's just so expensive for a part that really shouldn't be any more expensive than a normal one...

RE: Thinking of taking the plunge

there's a decent mount of maintenance. They still get dirty, they still need to be lubed, they should still be thoroughly checked overbefore and after any flight. You will spend a lot in this hobby,...

RE: Newbie looking for 1st RC heli... Falcon 3D, Esky CP2 or else??? Advice.

Which is easier depends on the person and the simulator. I've used the great planes simulators for years and still find them hard, but a real heli got easy for me at one point and then I stopped...

RE: decisions,decisions

I used to have an older model swift. It was just too light for me to really fly it since we always have a bit of wind here. I don't know if the new ones are still like that though. The thing is...

RE: Please help eagar newbie inital setup problems

just put the tail blades as straight as you can. They should be loose enough to be able to move, but not loose enough that when you put one up and let it go that it will fall back down

RE: Thinking of taking the plunge

People are having a problem with those servos. Quite honestly I wouldn't use the servos and I would just upgrade them immediately. But hey, that's just me

lol! I seem to always be the first to answer your questions.

I don't know anythng about your current transmitter, just thought I'd put that out there.

The higher the number of channels, the...

RE: Servo Questions

kind of odd that they chose the high speed servos for cyclic. Not a horrible choice because those servos do have a lot of torque anyways. Still the reason you don't have centering problems is the...

RE: Servo Questions

the HS-65MG is an analogue servo. It is a very good one though. The digital counterpart is the HS-5065MG

RE: Servo Questions

if at all possible, do not use rc car servos for helicopters. It's not really a big deal if you use them in planes, but they don't center correctly which will be a pain in the-you know-

Hitec,...

RE: good upgrade from BCX

ummm...actually the head is quite strong itself. Almost all helicopters, including the trex has stock plastic heads. The plastic is really tough. The main shaft (which is metal) is the problem on the...

RE: RC Heli Investment question (whats going to last you)

I say servos because good ones can take a lot more abuse, are more accurate, center better, and most importantly, they hold solid in flight with no slop. If your servos develop slop you will crash,...

RE: RC Heli Investment question (whats going to last you)

I'm tempted to say the biggest investment should be transmitter, however I think that good servos are really the best investment, of course the transmitter will probably still be the most expensive...

RE: good upgrade from BCX

the cp pro doesn't like wind at all. I fly mine in the crammed consines of my house most days, though I do occasionally bring it out. I really wouldn't recommend learning to fly on it unless you have...

RE: Best 1st Heli (non coaxial) unlimited budget

You say "unlimited budget" and then you go on to say you have a ceiling of 500 or so for price total. Really, 500 isn't much at all. If you wanted, you can use one plane transmitter if you're willing...
