RE: 2 or 3 cell lipo

Yes the voltage is the difference, but if the motor is designed for 11 volts, it will provide much more thrust with a three cell Lipo compared to a two cell Lipo.

RE: JR SX600 computer radio

Update - the elevator joystick (up/down stick motion) now doesn't center due to a mechanical problem. Ailerons do center. Kludged it working with a rubber band. It will do fine until I migrate to...

RE: JR SX600 computer radio

I have used it for several months and it seems to be a pretty good radio. Programming is fairly straightforward once you invest some learning time. I never could figure out how to get flaperons...

RE: Slow Stick Battery Strap

Motor high, battery low on my Stick. I use two rubber bands, Velcro loop material on the battery bottom, and a Velcro strap around the battery/fuse. Actually this is the setup on my Stevens Aero...

RE: Not so slow Slow Stick

It looked good to me. You need to fly it it in a larger area - it won't seem fast with more maneuvering room. Also, the more experience you have, the slower the plane becomes.

RE: I learnt about flying from that

I recently let my Stevens Stik get too far away from me (still don't know how that happened!!) and through lots of luck and a little bit of skill I figured out what the plane was doing (it was a...

RE: Slow Stick ESC?

I use a Castle Thunderbird 18 for my Eflite 400 outrunner with a three cell LiPo and nothing even gets warm. My first build of my Slow Stick was with the GWS 400 brushed and a small GWS ESC (forgot...

RE: newbie says hi and begs for help

It's not a big deal. I rammed my motor into the fuse after a hard crash and just pulled it out and flew it again. As far as I know, there is no mod for the motor mount.

RE: I want to get a plane!

Can't go wrong with a Slow Stick. I used an Eflite Park 400 outrunner (740 Kv) and would use either a 2 or 3 cell LiPo. Brushed geared motor with NiMh won't give you long flight times, but the cost...

RE: Good -small- park flyer

Not sure, but if it doesn't, I would be very surprised. I've been looking closely at this for a very small space fun flier. A flat foamie is also high on my list of future planes.

RE: 3rd plane ideas with ailerons

I built a Stevens Aero Stik for my first aileron trainer. Moved my Slow Stick brushless motor/ESC/Receiver to the Stik and it is a great trainer capable of outside/inside loops, rolls, inverted...

RE: Story of a Newbie and two Firebird Freedoms

The Super Cub would be a far superior trainer over the Freedom. Better yet would be a Slow Stick with good radio gear that can be moved along to your next plane(s.)

RE: Slow Stick with brushless motor question

I originally used a propsaver on my SS because my buddy did on his SS, but after a few flights I decided I was better off without it. First off, I had a problem with the added speed of the brushless...
