RE: Hangar 9 Aresti Crash - Bad Transmitter?

You'd be surprised what the twisting and stress forces on an apparently undamaged wing can do to a servo.

I had a big crash with a little .10 sized electric on the weekend, and like you the wing...

I broke it :(

[:o]

Broke it good and proper. Classic case of "dumb thumbs". I was doing nice quick aileron rolls over the strip, about 10-20 feet high.
Over and over again, really nice, showing off for...

RE: Corsair Tip Stall on Take Off

jetmech is correct... if it didn't roll over on you then it wasn't a tip stall. You might have some success if you repeat the takeoff with less elevator.

RE: how to fix

Fitting it in flush is not too hard.

Think of it like making your own jigsaw: clean up the edges of the holes, make sure you have something to support the new balsa (new stringers and/or cut the...

RE: Panzl suicide-video posted,

Excellent video quality, good spirit, and as others have said, great flying up to that point :)
Show us pictures once you have it back together and flying!

RE: Stupid, Stupid Stupid!

Wind changes your airspeed, hence it affects lift.
Tailwind = less airspeed = less lift
Headwind = more airspeed = more lift

And that's not even going into wind direction, e.g. an updraft...

RE: Any way to pull out of a low altitude stall?

My first thought when I read the title "Any way to pull out of a low altitude stall?" was:

"Isn't it a bit late to be asking?!"

:D

RE: 1st Crash

Nice work!

Although all this talk of 'dead stick' landing makes me laugh. I learnt to fly on slope gliders, where every landing is a dead-stick (albeit with MUCH lower wing loading than a...

RE: Jet Crash @ Joe Nall May 2007

Oh wow. That is absolutely insane. Going by the posts on youtube it was a radio hit? When will people learn?

RE: Dura Trax Raze

For real? So you can just grab some hyper 7 front ball hubs and other bits and bolt them on? Sounds awesome.

RE: Dura Trax Raze

Mine was purchased locally in New Zealand as a "Smartech Vanguard". But after studying heaps of photos, manuals, schematics, etc., it is 100% identical to the Duratrax Raze.

The only...

RE: Dura Trax Raze

Haha I ususally just pull the motor and electrics off, then give the chassis a quick hosing to remove the lime/dirt stuff from the BMX track that sets like concrete if you leave it on.

I'm going...

RE: Without my Slow Stick tonight...

Been there buddy. Not as bad, but I lost a slope soarer with a PCM receiver and two nice metal gear servos.

I went to a gardening store and got a bunch of bamboo poles, strapped 3 or four...

RE: Dura Trax Raze

12 and a half turns seems like waay too much on my buggy. The needle feels like it's about to fall out.

RE: Dura Trax Raze

Hrmm. I had thought the Raze was bullet proof because nothing had fallen off or broken. I've had many heavy crashes, and a number of rolls, triple-, quad- and more cartwheels, 10 foot high jumps,...

RE: Dura Trax Raze

Hey kart racer, you may have learned this since the video, but:

Blip the throttle while the buggy is in the air to stop it from nose-diving off a straight ramp. I use that technique ALL the...

RE: H9 Corsair should be gone

Awesome! You must have been buzzing with adrenaline when you got it down. It's like those times you make silly mistakes like crossed controls or another model loaded into memory and still manage to...

RE: Dura Trax Raze

Yeah definitely watch the kingpin screws on the front suspension - I lost one and a bushing before I realised they had no locktite in stock.
I'm talking about the screws that hold the aluminium...

RE: Dura Trax Raze

I concur Chris. The steering servo is really the weak point. Out of the box it will barely turn the wheels at standstill, and forget about any sort of re-centering torque.

Stock engine is...

RE: Dura Trax Raze

Been running my Raze pretty hard for a few months, and have finally broken something.
The receiver on/off switch fell to pieces, thankfully at idle :)
I removed it and just soldered the wire...

RE: Dura Trax Raze

Yup, I think hacking/modding servo arms is one of the most common things between RC users (planes/cars/helis) :)

RE: Dura Trax Raze

I just used one of the arms that came with the servo, and drilled out one of the holes so the linkage would fit.

RE: Dura Trax Raze

Sounds like you might need to adjust the low-speed needle Ace. Warm the motor up and try winding the low-speed out half a turn. If that doesn't work, then try the idle speed.

RE: OFFICIAL KYOSHO MP777-SP1/SP2 THREAD

Similar question to the above: can I use the Mp777 front shock tower on my mp7.5 (assuming I also get the IF324 bushings that go in the big suspension arm hole on the mp777)?
