I traced the problem to a faulty CDI unit.

To find my fault, I disconnected the CDI unit spark plug...

Thanks for your reply. That sounds more like a kinder running in process that I'd be happy to use.
Running full throttle for 3-4 minutes feels a bit harsh for a new motor.

I've used model technics After run oil in my YS engines and it's never caused any ill effects. One of my YS was laid up for 2 year's and it ran perfectly after all that time.
