RE: Field Equipment

Besides what has been mentioned I always carry a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher.
I have bandaged up a few fingers that wandered into the prop arc and once put out a grass fire at the field.

RE: Where do you get your lead?

I went to the local metal scrap yard and got about 40 lbs of lead in sheets for about $2.00.
I can melt a little down anytime I need some.

RE: Field Interference?

Arrogance at your field?

We had a younger fellow (new guy to us) show up at our field and promptly walked up and down the flight line telling us what was wrong with out models. This from a guy who glued his receiver to the...

Field Congestion

First we limit the number of aircraft in the sky to 6 maximum.
We ask every pilot to limit their flight to about 10 minutes if it is busy.
We divide the flying area into 4 quadrants and if you are...

wagner paint sprayer?????

I'd blow paint thru a soda straw before I'd use a Wagner product again. It's just a waste of money and time. Invest in a quality airbrush and you'll have something that gives good results for years.

Events for a FunFly

I always like the toilet paper drop. One plane carries a roll up to altitude while the rest start their motors and form up. When the first palne is really high he drops the toilet paper roll and it...

I tried sand; you are right, it leaks out everywhere. I went to lead shot from a sporting goods store. I can't sew either so I used a 'hot glue" gun to make bags about 4 inches square and some bigger...

What do you LIKE the most about this hobby

Lifting off the water with a Cub on floats and watching the water droplets stream back off the aircraft like little diamonds sparkling against the blue sky,,,

What annoys you most?!

Very slow, creeping along, hands clenching the wheel, white-haired drivers too dim to move into the slow lane. (and yes, I have white hair but know enough to drive at least the speed limit)

I know...

Tip plates - Can they significantly increase aileron effectiveness??

I had a clipped (48") wing Goldberg Cub that I experimented with.
I put wingtip fences on, about 4 inches above and below the wing surfaces. It gave great low speed handling but I didn't notice...

For you workshop and none workshop owners, this is a good one.

Ahhh, now that's just mean!
I think we'd have a good time; build a few planes, drink a cold brew once in awhile, and I promise not to turn you in.

I'm not too sure about that working at 7.00 am ...

Iraqi Drone, can it fly past 93 miles?

The picture I saw on MSN looked like a MIG 21 aircraft configured to spray chemicals. The clip was very short so I might be mistaken.

Probably not the best idea in my opinion.
I have taught a lot of folks to fly and I would recommend you get a regular trainer to get someone going.
