RE: Walkera 5#10

If your looking for battery upgrades go to MaxAmp. I bought some 3.7V 1100 mAh 18C cells and soldered on JST connectors. You can use the battery holder from Gary at SuperSkids and rubber band them...

RE: Walkera 5#10

Butters, sorry I thought you were saying the Xtreme blades didn't fit. I guess you were refering to the CF blades you posted.

RE: Walkera 5#10

Those look great, a little rich for my blood. The Xtreme blades are really tough and $ 4.00/set. Think I'll wait and see how hard it is for you to break th CF's before I invest that much money.

RE: Walkera 5#10

My suggestion would be to get them from Mike, Jr. at Ka-planes. Their web site is ka-planes.com. They may be a bit higher than some of the others but their service is second to none.

RE: Walkera 5#10

Ok, here are the photos with the SuperSkids, MaxAmp Battery and the Xtreme Blades. Next project is to reverse the frame rails and machine some spacers to widen the battery holder enough to allow the...

RE: Walkera 5#10

Well I finally got the batteries from MaxAmps. I got the connectors soldered and the batteries wrapped. They allow about 10 mins of flight time as opposed to 7 mins with the stock battery. I got to...

RE: Walkera 5#10

I don't think I'd bend the battery. I'm going to fasten mine to the bottom of the frame with some small velcro straps. By the way the Xtreme blades are BadA@#$% blades. With the stock battery they...

RE: Walkera 5#10

Yep, those are the ones. Think the LiPo cells and the Xtreme blades will be here Thursday. I should have the cells ready to fly by Friday so I'll give you a report on the flight times and power...

RE: Walkera 5#10

That's the cells that I bought. Like I said, I haven't received mine yet, but according to the guys at MaxAmps they should work and give the HM5 #10 more power and a longer flight time. You've got...

RE: Walkera 5#10

You might want to check these guys out. I purchased these to install in my HM5 #10, I haven't received them yet but they are the same dimensions as the stock battery. You'll have to buy some 37mm...

RE: Good beginner heli

Being a beginner myself I did a lot of research and setteled on a Walkera HM5 #10. They are inexpensive to purchase, about $ 120, the parts are cheap and the coax is the easiest to learn basic...

RE: First RC Heli suggestion

I would contact a reputable seller like Ka-planes (www.ka-planes.com) for suggestions. I got a lot of useful information from Mike, Jr. when I was shopping for my first heli. I ended up buying a...

RE: Walkera 5#10

Well I finally got a nice calm day and got a chance to really fly my HM5 #10. I've been flying it indoors for about three weeks, of I'm a real nubie at this helicopter stuff. Anyway I charged up...

RE: Helicopter pilot vrs Airplane pilot

For what it's worth I think planes are much easier, I flew the real thing and RC's for over thirty years. The first time I picked up the radio on an RC Helicopter I was immediately in trouble. I...

RE: How do i adjust the gyro on the Walkera 510

I'm kind of new to the sport, however I do have a HM5 #10. I just adjusted the sensivity until I started to get "tail wag" and then backed off on the sensitivity about 1/4 turn. The thing that was...

RE: Walkera 5#10

I purchased a Walkera HM5 #10 and the first thing I did was put a set of SuperSkid 400's on the little coax. They fit in L2/R2 with no problems. The only thing I did was cut an 1.5" off the skid...

RE: my Ka-Planes.com review

I totally agree that Ka-Planes is a real class operation. I've been flying planes for years and recently moved to a spot that just didn't have a good place to fly. I started looking for a beginner...
