RE: How can people afford the high cost of electric?

I don't know really. I run both, and they both are really about the same. You can get better performance out of electric, but usually at the cost of chewed up drive train components, and burnt ESC's...

RE: Switching to Lipo!!!

Balance charger

Me and my friends use these. I've had mine since December, when I'm at the track it runs non-stop, it costs about 35 bucks shipped, will charge 5 amps, has built in balancer,...

RE: LiPo vs LiFe batteries?

Well I've never had any issues with lipos. In fact, I've had way more troubles with NiCad and NiMh batteries. I've blew up more NiCad/NiMh batteries by charging them too fast than lipos. And they...

RE: 20% to 30% ????

That's not true. Glow plug temps do not have a "direct affect" on power. They affect ignition timing mainly. Too hot of a plug will result in advanced ignition timing, engine overheating, and short...

RE: hyper 7 difference

The same here. The Hyper .21 can be sent in to Ofna with 65 bucks and get a new piston/sleeve/rod if needed. Use standard diffs and aluminum drive shafts to help keep weight down. These pieces are...

RE: Why Is There kV ratings and T ratings for BL Motors?

KV rating is describing how many RPM's the motor is going to try and turn per volt at free load. T is the amount of windings the motor has just like the old brushed motors. KV and turns will vary ...

RE: Which is better blitz / slash

I'm not gonna say which I like the best. I've been an avid AE supporter for too long, and Traxxas has always been a basher's dream machine. And well, I like to race.

RE: blitz or SC10?

As an avid AE supporter, I hate to say this, but go Blitz. I never liked HPI, and I wound up with a Blitz not by my choice, but now I'm loving it. My buddies SC10 doesn't land off of jumps as good as...

RE: team asscoiated sc10 a good truck?

The SC10 carves corners great. It likes to jump with it's nose in the air alot, and can land a bit rough sometimes. Me and a close friend of mine, who have been racing for years together, are very...

RE: which one to club race?

If the Losi is too expensive, I say get something cheaper that will hold up like the Picco buggy, or a Hyper seven. Then use the left over cash to get a good receiver pack, and a GOOD charger for it,...

RE: need help with hyper 7 !!!

A good .21 will have more than enough power to light up the tires. The tires on a 1/8 scale buggy will probably never get all a .21 engine's power to the ground, much less a .28's. Not unless you're...

RE: Xtm Xt2

What type of receiver battery are you running? Not four AA's I hope. Id get a set of S9452 servos also. If that's out of your price range right now, try an S3305 for the steering, and by all means...

RE: Xtm xt2

35 bucks to break in? Man I've broke in countless engines for free. Even provided some fuel for those who went to the LHS, and the guy behind the counter sold him some crappy Traxxas "Top Fuel."

RE: ofna 9.5 violator

Unless it was exposed to moisture, the engine is probably not hurt. It will be a little gummed up, but some fresh fuel will fix that.

RE: No Nitro should be w/o a failsafe!!

long as you keep everything in good shape, and quit trying to run crappy RTR grade electronics with 4 AA batteries, you should never have a runaway. I had one, I was using a transmitter without a...

RE: New HPI Short Course Truck

OK, finally got some serious track time on my Blitz, and quite a bit on my bud's SC10. They both, out of the box out performed the Slash hands down. Jumping, cornering, etc. The only place the slash...

RE: Slash Quality Sucks (Somehow)

I do agree with the Traxxas sucks part, but the cold weather can cause plastic parts to snap easy. That was a minor hit however, even considering the cold temperature. Oh well, the die hard Traxxas...

What are your thoughts on short course trucks?

The new class is awesome in my opinion. It's low cost gives people of all ages a chance to compete at the local track. It seemed RC racing had evolved into a big money 1/8 scale buggy competition,...

RE: Which Short Course Truck?

[quote]ORIGINAL: FoamyVictim

They're all pretty good trucks. Here's a mix of SC10s and Slashes:

That is such a simple track. I like the backboard idea though. Horizonrcdotcom does some...

RE: new strike with two questions

It usually takes a few cycles to wake up NiMh batteries when they're new. You should keep getting longer run times as you use them.

RE: Which Short Course Truck?

I just bought a Blitz, have had plenty of trigger time on a Slash, and my closest friend, and RC buddy owns an SC10. I bought the Blitz just because I had so much AE stuff for the past, oh, __-teen...

RE: Is the Hyper 7 outdated?

That's exactly it, stuff happens. And it's nice to know you'll have factory parts support when it does, instead of looking everywhere for NOS or used stuff.

RE: RC10GT2

The GT2 can wheelie with the stock engine. But trust me, once you and your friends have seen it wheelie a few times, it's no fun anymore. I guess that's why you can go to youtube and watch heaps of...

RE: Is the Hyper 7 outdated?

It depends on what you mean by out dated. Parts availability should be pretty good for quite some time yet, but there has been alot of buggies that have came out since the introduction of the H-7....
