RE: My .15 shootout AP OS LA and CV-A

If I remember Fox engines are usually quite a bit heavier than most other brands. I have never owned one personally. I know there is a big following for them.

RE: My .15 shootout AP OS LA and CV-A

I have no experience with the norvels in that size. I had plenty of .061/.074 flavors of norvel and they we quality engines with surprising power. I've been out of the loop for the last 8 months or...

RE: My .15 shootout AP OS LA and CV-A

All my tests were done with master airscrew plastic/composite props. I have flown that AT-6 many times since then and have found the cv-a to be a wonderful powerful engine. My opinion today is if...

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!

A g-26 could work but I would be a little worried about the airframe. I have a spe 26cc which comes in at 40oz with everything including battery and it flies ok. However with the couple of reports...

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!

I just weighed my plane and really it wasn't as bad as I thought. With my bcma 26cc engine (SPE engine) my all up weight minus fuel is 13lbs 14oz. So just a hair under 14 lbs. My engine is 36oz...

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!

I would think you would need plenty of weight added to the front to balance it. With my SPE 26cc gas with electronic ignition I have the ignition and 4 cell AA ignition pack attached to the firewall...

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!

I didn't get a chance to check the stall on the first two flights but I did try takeoff and landing with/without flaps. They work great. Take off with half flaps really gets it into the air quick...

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!

Just got in an apc 16x8 and what a difference. Still not big loops but I am sure that will change as the engine breaks in. Definately got off the ground much better. Plus I ended up pulling the...

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!

I left mine wing as a three piece. What I did was fit all panels snuggly together and torque down the screws. Then pull them apart and used my dremel to notch the aluminum joiners that the screws...

RE: Honeybee King v2 tuner shop

I haven't tried the esky receiver in the hbk2 but in my esky hbmk3 4n1 receiver the futaba crystals do not work. Just as you suspect the 4n1 is single conversion and dual conversion crystals will...

RE: Honeybee King v2 tuner shop

The esky tx's eat alkalines quickly. I just buy a set of 8 duracell or energizer 2500ma AA nimh batts from walmart and pop them in. Last a good long time. Its kind of odd that my esky honeybee mk3...

RE: Honeybee King v2 tuner shop

In idle up mode doesn't the motor spin at 100% power? I don't notice any gain in rpm when pitch goes positive. The dynam speed control doesn't have a governer so I suspect it is wide open. If that...

RE: Honeybee King v2 tuner shop

The above link is the same pinions I have. They work great! The 10T works with no modification. Last night I installed the 11T and it requires you to dremel the hole the pinion goes through in the...

RE: Honeybee King v2 tuner shop

Got a good flight out at the soccor field tonight. I am still new to heli's and have a quick question. When hovering I have to add a little right trim and if trimmed for hover when I go into...

RE: Honeybee King v2 tuner shop

I have the 3100kv with a 10 tooth and it jumps off the ground with no problems. 9 tooth may not be enough head speed. The tail servo mount will move so that you can get mechanical trim just by...

RE: Honeybee King v2 tuner shop

Soldered up a harness this morning so I could hook up my multimeter and measure the current draw. With the 3100kv esky brushless and 10T pinion using the regular 10c 1000ma batteries the max draw...

RE: Honeybee King v2 tuner shop

Which esky brushless did you get? Mine is the 3100kv which has a max amp draw of 13 amps. The 3800kv model is a 20 amp max motor so if thats what you have then you would need a different battery. ...

RE: Honeybee King v2 tuner shop

My tail belt has been fine so far. I smoked my esc on flight number 10. From day one I noticed the stock motor and esc got extremely hot and it was really heating up my lipos. Gear mesh was fine. ...

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!

With your two stroke you will need a lead brick on the front. With my 26cc gas engine setup with all servos in the middle tray and a ignition battery on the firewall I am probably looking at a 1/2...

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!

Also I mocked up my 25cc weedeater engine and since the cowl descends in the front the flywheel/magnito setup will not clear. [:o] I have a new BCMA 26cc engine on the way but they say 2 week lead...

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!

I've been working on mine. The tail linkage is a joke. Super Hot was right. Don't waste your time with the stock setup. I did to see how much play and I don't think I would have made a lap before...
