Eflite Power 32 vs Rimfire & Dualsky 4250 vs Motocalc

Ive been looking at a motor for my 3.5lb 3D plane, and originally started by looking at the hackers, axi's etc. I noticed the eflite 32 was also popular for this size. After just a little bit of...

RE: To All ThunderBird ESC are Bad?

I run the same esc and 1320 3s on an axi 2212 / 2212 clone and it works fine. The power is a little lacking right now (0 degrees C ) compared to the summer though!

RE: Geared outrunners?

For any given prop diameter, using a gearbox and upping the pitch to make the current draw the same can be more efficient since the prop speed is lower so you get less frictional losses.

I am...

Geared outrunners?

I don't see many people gearing outrunners these days, though I see a fair number of setups like this from a few years ago.

I want to convert my saito 72 3d model (laser 3d) to electric. It is...

RE: Laser 3D Conversion

My wild guess:

AXI 4120/lots of turns
4s A123 2300 battery (enough for a 9-10 min flight, a 4600 is too big and heavy IMO)

Im not too sure about ESC, I would like a basic one like a...

Laser 3D Conversion

I am interested in converting my Laser 3D to electric. It weighs 4lb 6 oz, with a saito .72. Removing the motor, Rx battery, servo and full tank would save about 27 oz. Currently it uses a 13x4...

RE: Any reasons not to use a prop saver?

I think I will always be crash landing on grass :)

Also, my ESC will be set with no brake, so that the prop can flip out of the way.

RE: Triton Jr. false peaking

I have heard the Triton series deliberately undercharges a small amount as a 'bonus' safety feature, though it sounds like in your case something else is wrong.

Cellpro 4S Charge time vs. others

I am in the market for a lipo charger and balancer, and have heard great things about the cellpro 4S. I like that it includes a balancer, and I also really like that it can charge a lipo in 50...

Any reasons not to use a prop saver?

I've read all the threads about prop savers, but didn't find anybody giving a good reason not to use them. Several people said they were not required with the correct landing technique, but didn't...

RE: Need help to modify a radio

Its doable, but it wont be so simple as snipping the wires from the throttle slider and attaching them to the output of the foot pedal. You will probably need to find someone fairly capable with...

RE: Brushless Outrunner Radial Mount vs. Conventional

I am pretty sure foam is strong enough to bend a prop shaft, even if the motor also comes off in the process.

The X-piece would be used in this case since I was planning on reinforcing behind...

Brushless Outrunner Radial Mount vs. Conventional

Hi,

I am trying to decide whether to use the radial mount (top) or the conventional mount (bottom) for my AXI 2212. This is being installed on a 3D flat foamy (no landing gear.) My 2 concerns...

Nothing can balance that unless you installed your own balance connector.

RE: Im on the fence, TP1320 vs Dualsky 1320

I guess not too many people use the Dualsky...

My final decision was Lipower Prolites from zebrahobby.ca. Apparently they are the same cells as TP but are a very good price.

Im on the fence, TP1320 vs Dualsky 1320

Im trying to decide between these two batteries. I am getting a pair for a ~13 oz 3D parkflyer, with an AXI 2212/34 drawing 10A max.

Both have a 13C continuous rating (~17A). The TP pack...

RE: ESC Choice: CC25 vs Eflite 20

The motor is rated for 10A / 60 seconds, so I am also not sure why everybody on the www.3dbatix.com forum swears by the CC25 speed control, it seems like its overkill. They are all running 12x6...

Any other people built those 3DBatix planes? It looks as if they have a large following on the 3DB forum, and they fly very nicely (good pilots too)

I am seriously considering buying material...

RE: FS one by Horizon Hobbies

Disabling on board sound has allowed me to fly the funtana 40 for example which caused me to crash instantly before. The FPS has not changed on the other aircraft.

Now there is another problem...
