RE: Spreckles Lake in Golden Gate Park

RE: proboat hydro

If you can get the engine just right during tuning, you don't need to change the engine.  Here is what I did to upgrade mine, and I am running high 30s to low 40's.
The changes I made to the Formula...

RE: Picco 90 build

What you need to do, is connect the two larger tanks (by a Y connection) to the smaller tank and then connect the smaller tank to the carb.  You may need to tighten the fly wheel to the flex shaft as...

RE: Spreckles Lake in Golden Gate Park

Hey Sheograth,

I run nitro at Spreckles Lake on Saturday mornings.  We are allowed to run gas and nitro tuesday, thursday and saturday from 10am - 1pm.  There is actually a really big group that...

RE: Who has O'donnell #89 Glo Plugs?

They are really a great online hobby shop.  I purchase from them all the time and receive my order way sooner than expected.

RE: picco .67 glow plug choices

Give www.amainhobbies.com a call.  They have been more than helpful in the past.  I'm sure they can set you up with the proper glow plug.  Sorry about that, thought your .67 was newer and had the...

RE: picco .67 glow plug choices

The plugs themselves are not cheap.  But better to run Picco plugs than destroy the engine.

RE: picco .67 glow plug choices

Oops, I meant I use the Turbo Cold plugs.  Medium and Hot are for a different application.  Sorry for that mix up.

RE: picco .67 glow plug choices

Ryan,
Go with the OFNA for the Picco.  They are made specific for that engine (Actually made by Picco).  I use them in my .45R.  That engine is going to make your hydro scream by the way.

RE: 1/8 scale miller american

The only major dealer for nitro in North America is Hallam Marine.  He carries a Picco .45R and the .67 CMB engine.  He also carries the tuned racing pipes.  But prepared to spend about $500.  From...

RE: 1/8 scale miller american

Ryan,

Just a heads up though.  Electrics can be very costly since it sounds like you will need engine, esc, batteries and charger.  Plus what ever else I forgot.  Just take your time a little and...

RE: getting back in it

If you can't find a good used one, I do highly recommend the Picco and CMB.  The only dealer for the Picco is Hallam Marine Hobby in Canada.  I purchased a .45R from him.  Here is what I will be...

RE: OLD SCHOOL-I Want to Build an Aeromarine RC Nitro Boat after 17 Years!

Go with a novarossi and a CMB tuned pipe.  Will cost a little, but really make that boat go.

RE: proboat hydro

Actually Miss Hydro, it all depends on your location for the carb settings.  Personally, when I first got my boat, I have to turn it out to 3 3/4 turns to run it rich during break in.  Then I turned...

RE: proboat hydro

I use a grim racer 36X55 and GrimRacer 18 Hydro Turn Fin-Polished from Aquacraft.  I also am using O'Donnell Boat fuel.  I highly recommend their 20% nitro boat fuel for break in and then move up to...

RE: proboat hydro

Have you made any upgrades to it yet?  You can increase the speed by 7-10mph with a metal prop, new turn fin and once broken in, you can remove some head shims and increase to 50% nitro.

Randy from BBY Racing can help you. He is closed for the week, but he is currently building my Winston Eagle Lobster Hydro. I'm sure he would be glad to pick up your project.

RE: SF Bay Area, RC Boat Club

I tried sprekels lake already.  They have a 15mph speed limit and they are more of a model sailing club.  Thanks for the tip though.

RE: SF Bay Area, RC Boat Club

Ok,
So not much of a San Francisco crowd.  Here is the deal, just looking to start a club at Lake Merced in SF.  I have a request out to the parks and rec and waiting for a response.  I run a sport...
