RE: Oakdale Aircraft still in business?

Is it any harder to launch or heavier than a Whiplash? Had a Whiplash with a Jett 50 with a 8.75x8 on it that hand launched great.

Oakdale Aircraft still in business?

Anyone know if Oakdale Aircraft is still in business? I have tried to contact them by e-mail for over two weeks. I want to get a Phenom. I know there are other Delta wings out there, but I really...

RE: Need advice for a friends first plane

I had thought about selling him my LT-40, but my wife would be upset. She has a blast flying around the circuit while on the buddy box. The idea of thinking two or three steps ahead is a good...

RE: Need advice for a friends first plane

Thank you all very much for the responses! Some of the planes mentioned, I had no idea they existed. The club I belong to has about 160 members between two flying fields and it seems the trainer...

RE: Saito 82 or 91 for WM Dago Red?

RE: Saito 82 or 91 for WM Dago Red?

I have no experience with the Saito 91, but I just finished and flew my WM Dago Red with the Saito 82. I was very happy with the performance of this combo! I used an APC 13x8 prop. I had to move the...

RE: Sig Somethin' Extra

I really enjoyed the Sig SE. Get an instructor to buddy box with you for a flight or two. And when building it, get rid of the control rods that come with the kit and go for all metal ones like 4-40....

RE: JETT 50 with ducted fan liner for Whiplash

Thanks Chuck. That was the type of info I was looking for. Off the whiplash launcher, if I use a 8.8x or 8.75x prop it is a hit or miss proposition. When I use a 9x prop good things happen!!!

RE: Viper or Whiplash?

Can you avoid the "noise" to the receiver by wrapping it well in foam? Would a high-end receiver be less prone to that problem. That had to be awful, seeing your new plane just roll like that and you...

Well, I changed my mind. I ordered the Whiplash and a Jett FIRE 50 with tuned pipe. I figure if I plant it and destroy the plane, the radio and engine should still be O.K (I hope!!).
I have...
