I did the same and had no problems; just opened up the scale oil cooler location. The top hallf or so of the valve cover on the OS70FS stuck out the bottom of cowl. I had the bottom of the cowl...

I assembled one with an OS70FS 4-stroke. Mounted inverted with an OS 90-degree (in cowl) muffler extesion so that the muffler was on the underside of the fuselage. Thought it looked much better...

You'll shape it after the TE is attached to the end of the ribs. Be sure not to glue the TE to the wing jig tabs on the ribs.

The Great Planes ARF floats work well. In the Seaplanes forum there is a good thread on the H9 J3 Cub and floats. Hope this helps.
