RE: DeHavilland Mosquito

Well, I've done it. I've finally bought one.
Need to decide on engines though.
I've read the posts and most people have their favourites but which would you guys consider the best to put in it?...

RE: DeHavilland Mosquito

I put my hand up - you got me. Strange how you realise your mistake once the Enter button has been hit though. :)
It's still a very impressive bird and I am going to build and fly one one day....

Oh ... my ... god. What a fantastic sound.
Hats off to you Lozza. That's one fantastic bird.
It's made me want one even more now. Only been flying for about 1 year and still need to progress to...

RE: DeHavilland DH89 Dragon Rapide

I thought G_AGSH looked a lot like the one owned by Philip Meeson. (The main difference being the spats of course).
Looks like someone has already done the Vimy bird perch!...

RE: Cleaning fuel residue off aircraft ?

I use baby wipes too. Always have done. Quick, cheap and easy.
Put it this way - If it can take that stuff off a baby's bottom it's not going to have any trouble with fuel residue now is it !!! :)

RE: first low wing artf

Take a look at the Acro Wot by chris Foss. www.chrisfoss.co.uk
OK, so it's not strictly ARTF but all the bits are in the box and the wings are pre-made so there isn't an immense amount of work to...

RE: BootLace

What are your aileron links like?
Mine ended up quite loose, so I'll either re-do them or put 1 servo in each wing for a faster more acurate response.

RE: BootLace

Way to go hisham. Very nice looking plane. I bet it goes vertical on that engine.
BTW. Did you opt for 1 servo per aileron or just the central one as per the plans.
I'm considering putting 1 per...

RE: BootLace

Just moved home so planes are still bubble-wrapped. Bought a new shed (8'x12') so I can do all my modelling in peace. Also, when I put something down it stays put down and doesn't get tidied away !...

RE: BootLace

I made mine detachable. Using three 6mmx2mmx30mm flat aluminium, 1.5cm is fixed into the cowel and a slot made in the fuse. Once pushed in place, a screw in each holds it all together. Works well....

That looks like a great flyer. Let me know which magazine takes it. I'll definately be building it.

RE: BootLace

Hisham,
Hadn't considered casting it in Fibre Glass. Not done any of that before. Is it difficult?
Would there be much of a weight difference do you think ?

Cheers
