Optical Kill Switch - FM vs. PCM Versions?

OK...I give up. What's the difference between the two versions? PCM Receivers don't "talk" to Servos (and therefore the Optical Kill Switch) any differently than FM Receivers do, do they? Why two models? Thanks!

Actually there is a slight difference when the receivers loose signal. The FM receivers stop sending position pulses to the receiver. The PCM receivers keep sending position pulses, either the last position, if the failsafe was not set, or the failsafe position. The was a small mistake in the firmware that got past testing that did not shut the motor down on an FM at loss of signal, the PCM works fine. Since a batch of units was made up and the firmware is hard to change we modified some to do the right thing with FM and left the PCM versions as is. This will be corrected on the next revision due out soon.

I went to the web site to order a Optic Kill Switch for the new bird and it said not complatable with JR. Will the current system work with PCM but not FM? I will be running two JR 945s recievers, will the current switch work for me or do I need to wiat for the modification?

I am running the unit with the 945 receiver and it works perfect. I have it plugged into my Left dial, all the way to the right it on, turn it past center to the left and the unit shuts my ignition off.
You will also have to program your failsafe in the tx to shut off the ignition in a failsafe condition.

I wasn't sure after I seen their warning about the JR receivers. In the past I ran their single receiver unit on JR equipment with no problems. I have plans on setting up a bird that will require two receivers and just wanted to make sure that there wouldn't be a problem with their dual receiver kill switch.
I wonder also, since their unit plugs into both receivers, does it electrically connect both receivers together or is there some type of isolation? One point of running dual receivers is the ability to keep both units electrically isolated to prevent a shorted battery from bringing down both units.

We just got back from a short vacation and am in the process of moving our office. Our phone company messed up our DSL lines so we will not have those installed until at least Wednesday. I am actually using a friend's connection since they also messed up the internet at my home. Man I hate Qwest. So I will try to answer questions as best I can here but I may not be able to answer any follow-on questions until Wednesday or Thursday.
We had a production glitch with a new revision of the Igntion Cutoff and we are having problems with some JR receivers. I hope to have this resolved by early next week. As far as the electical connection between two receivers, there is a common ground connection but it is filtered. The power from each receiver is diode isolated so you will not get any back-flow of power if you loose a battery on one receiver. I hope this helps.
