Default prop size?

Hey guys I have a Graupner prop that is supposed to be 32mm but measures 30mm. Another one says it is 28mm but is really 26mm and a 36mm the really is 36mm. So what gives with the sizes not being as advertised? It makes it really tough to order a new one when upgrading cause you don't know what you will get. How do you get the right size if you don't have a hs close by and have to order? All these are Graupner props.

Default RE: prop size?

Hi Raz,

As a rule, the Graupner props I use from the K-series are mostly a bit larger than the advertized size, but once I've taken off the burrs and sharpened the leading- and trailing edges, the props are the correct size, or marginally smaller, depending on how much I take off sharpening.

The plastic ones deviate even more.

Regards, Jan.

Hi Jan. I can understand being off a little but 2 whole sizes? It makes it "crap shoot" when you have to order one. If I want a 31 mm I don't know if I should order a 31 or a 33.

I think u mean 31 or 29. I would get 31 because after you cut it down by sharpening and crap it will be 31.

These would be smaller though. A 30mm measures 28mm so a 29 would be 27mm and a 31mm would probably be a 29mm, very confusing.

Thanks Ron,

Now you've got me measuring all my Graupner props with callipers...

All props in all sizes (from 31 to 48mm) are marginally larger than stated on the wrapper, you must have encountered a bad batch.

If you want, contact Graupner and ask for an explanation:

Anny Kreyscher: [email protected] , as a rule you'll get a response.

Regards, Jan.
