Blowing up? never heard that term.
No phone call is that important

I bent over to pick my boat out of the water once and my cell phone dropped in the water. I quickly grabbed it out and pulled the battery out. It was vibrating when I pulled it out. I let it dry for 24 hrs in a very warm place. That was a year ago and it still works fine.

Back your throttle trim AND your throttle sub-trim all the way down.....in the negative on the sub trim and it should arm. Then adjust everything back up unitl the motor starts to spin slowly then back off a tad until it stops. That's it. It drove me crazy at first, too.

Yo, Orange Crush -

How come your profile says, under "Modifications", "R.I.P." - that usually means Rest in Peace - which usually means it's DEAD!

What happened - have you retired her?

Awaiting your answer,

sushi2me
aka Dave

PS - I STILL haven't gotten out with my "new" SV27 - I've already put ALL the possible modifications on it (from OSE, etc., even including an AutoBailer, larger ID air hose throughout, a Traxxas water pickup, left side turn fin, OSE adjustable trim tabs, OSE water jacket, and blocked off the rudder intake, etc. etc. etc.). I've got 2 pairs of Powerizer 4200's, a pair of Tenergy 3800's, a pair of 3300's - I hope I'm ready to go - I DID get to run it stock a couple times before winter set in here in Delaware (read: "Frozen Ponds/Lakes") and it ran great then - so I really, "Feel the need for speed"! I HAVEN'T tried the scuffing the hull yet - I want to do a "Before and After" comparison. Do you think those batteries will suffice? - I ran it on the 3300's last Fall and it flew. I also have put on an Octura x440/3, have a pair of MHZusa 45mm CF's, also a pair of stock AquaCraft OEM props as well, and have an old Octura 215 (or is it Prather?). Tell me what you think, please!

"Orange Crush" has been dry docked post collision last weekend. I already have a replacement Supervee custom painted in "4Q Team" colors, rigged and ready to go. I also filled the antenna tube hole and the hatch lock hole and after properly rigging it, I don't expect to have any use for an auto bailer. In fact, I removed them after the intitial test run of my Mean Machine as they were allowing a little water to seep in while the boat was at rest. I made a second test on it today and there was no water inside afterwards this time.

I'm not familiar with the batteries you have, but you should be okay to start there. You have a decent range of props to get a feel for the differences. The "215" is a Prather

Has anyone ever had one of those auto bailers fail? I have thought about putting on in, but then again water doesn't usually get in my boat. I guess its like insurance.

Like I said in my earlier post... I removed a pair of them from the Mean Machine as they were allowing water in seep in while the boat was at rest. New ones might not, but the ones that were in the used hull I got did. They appeared to be a perfect condition, too.

Sweet Fleet!
Thanks! The SV sure came together fast. The Mean Machine is finally coming up to snuff, too. I got aabout a five lap run on it this afternoon, but the batteries in the GPS died before I got it back in to check the speeds. I'm still gauging amp draw, Lipo current supply avialability and props. Started with a little biddy Y536 and went 38.6 on a two way pass @ 46.1 amps (that's nothing). I swapped for a Y537-3 and she lit up, but the GPS batteries didn't make the trip. I figure mid forties, though. I just need to walk the line on propping up for my target 50+ mph. This boat is so stable compared to the SV's. I was even running in water that I wouldn't have considered running an SV in.

Seems mine had to be reversed. You do know that on a brushless motor that you can just swap any one of the wires to change to motor direction.

Looks good um...RP? Looks like you need those 4Q2 numbers afterall. Sounds like that MM is going to be a screamer. Can't beat the stability of a tunnel.

Hi OC. Nice fleet. Is the Mean Machine a kit? If so, where did you get it? My son has a Prather tunnel hull tuned with a 3.5. I'd like to beat him with an electric.

Tks,

dirty, I gotcha. It's been awhile since I went up on the Futbaba. I just remember it driving me to the point of banging it on the ground trying to get it to arm.

No kit, stick. It was an ex-nitro hull that a buddy of mine had retired that I stripped to 1#-12.9 ozs. before bringing back to life as an "amp hog". I got 40.8 mph out of it this evening in the 15-20 mph winds and the water conditions they create. Oh and that was in sleet and rain with a 537/3 (very small 3 blader). I lost it on a high speed pass in the rough water, pelling the tape off the front of the hatch while she was still building speed. I'm still taking baby steps with the props after toasting a BK9920 and a 20c-4000mah lipo pack a couple of weeks ago. It is heading in the right direction now. I can't wait to get some decent water and to get a grip on the data from Benmat's logger I've been testing with. I think shes ready for another step up in prop size and another speed plateau.

On a side note, the wind and water conditions kept the new team SV off the water today. I'm looking forward to pushing 40 mph with it on it's first time on the water. It's all there... the right parts, the right blue printing and the cells.

Tks OC,

I really want a tunnel hull electric. Maybe Grimracer and Aquacraft can come up with a tunnel hull version of the SV only faster.[8D] Now let's all say together: "Git er done".

offshore's site is back up. I like the new design. The black background was hurting my eyes. Looks like they are going to offer the Mini Hydro RTR boat.

Mini Hydro.[8D] Like the fact it has gel coat instead of paint. I wonder what 3S LiPo is recommended? Vids look impressive, especially the LiPo one.

Sorry to be off topic. One last thing. Can you all point me to an electric hydro thread/forum so I can investigate further?

Tks much,

It's ok, we've been talking about Cat hulls and Tunnel hulls and about everything in between.
