Does anyone have any recommendations for upgrading the ESC & motor that will run about the same as stock or slightly better?
Also are the wires to the motor color coded for a reason?
This boat is one of our fastest stock supervees 33mph with 6 cell 3500s.
The ESC failed on the 5th run.

should that not be under a warranty of some sort ?
and i see on the wood motor mounts you have some mold growing . . ( from what i can see )i would get your self some Thompson water seal and brush that all over the wood . . don't want your motor mount to rot out
if you want more speed you could always look at the hacker70 and feigao L motor combo from offshore electrics

My guess is that the wires were not soldered that good in the first place in the esc, we all have seen alot of inconsistencies in the manufacturing. That would deffinetly be a problem. I would definitely search out the warranty on this one. Or it could have been alot of things. Small piece of debris could have clogged the water inlet or something could have gotten on the prop and caused a amp surge.

I noticed the mold, too. Sealing the wood is a definate, but so is storing the boat w/the hatch and radio box open for a day or so before capping everything off to allow it to dry out thoroughly. I wonder is condensation played a part in the death of the esc.
