hey electric guys, just quick question regarding reversing the polarity of electric starter to reverse the rotation, will this burn the motor?..i have a electric starter for nitro engine proboat but want to use in truck but the rotation is reverse..thanks..

Electric brushed motors you can reverse the polarity and it will be fine. The only time is when the timing is advanced on the motor and when you reverse the polarity the timing becomes retarded. im guessing its like the bump starters they use for planes too. do you want to use it to bump start nitro trucks on the flywheel

I remember seeing the thundercat using the rotostart setup so im guessing thats what kind of starter your talking about. Im not sure how that starter works if you plug a stick pack into it or what but if you pull it apart switch the motor wires and resolder you should be fine but if you just want to change the polarity were the battery plugs in im not sure about that because I dont own one of those starters.

exactly the rotostart of thundercat 31, i'm thinkin of inserting a wire in the plug from the battery to the starter and reverse it.
