if im not mistaken, these lights have little bulbs in them...but i was also told you can replace em with LEDs....so not sure how that would work. im trying to find out the specs of these lights now, waiting for a response.

I got the graupner speed 600 8.4v motor...but im not sure which side is negative and which is positive on where you solder on the wires...there is a red dot on one side and white dot on the other, im guessing the red dot is positive.

When looking at the shaft end of the motor head on, you want it to spin counter clockwise. This should be positive wire on terminal marked with red dot. Check to be sure with a battery, if not swap the wires. When looking at the rear of a boat, 90% of props sold, spin counter clockwise.

that is strange...well ive forgotten what i even asked you. it might of been about my battery/charger concern...
i got [link=http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2723]this battery charger[/link] and this [link=http://www.batteryconcepts.net/yuasa/sla-12-6a.html]6 volt SLA battery[/link] and ive already changed the plug on the battery to a female deans plug...and plan on changing the aligator clips on the charger with male deans plug...just want to be sure they would be safe together...etc.

The charger states it will work for a 6v Pb battery. I don't think you will have a problem. It is going to take a long time for that battery to charge. I'd estimate around 12 hours from just about dead.

Well, it looks like the motor is working properly, already soldered on the wires and tested it by connecting it to the ESC, connecting the ESC to the SLA battery & RX...the on/off switch on the ESC is handy. The motor spins perfectly....at least as far as I can tell. I'm really progressing, I should get the hull this Friday. The only thing that really concerns me is actually fitting the motor and propshaft in the hull properly. I can't afford to make any mistakes to this hull.
I bought this JR radio on ebay second hand, and didn't come with a manual so I really don't know much about it....like the LCD display...have no idea how to read it or what any of it means nor all the switches on it, I will try to find the manual online so I can figure this bad boy out.

I tried testing the servos too, but one of the servos plug is too fat, not the same as the others...so can't connect it to the RX...thou, it's still a 3 wire plug, it's not the same. i hope i can change it?

RX: JR Racing R135 FM 75MHz
Servo: Hitec Standard HS-422 (RCD APOLLO 10)
The other servo is also Hitec, but that plug fits...and the servo seems to work fine.

Those servos should work with each other. I dont understand what the RCD APOLLO 10 means, I would assume this has something to do with it having a different connector.

I was expecting them to have the same exact connector, I'm a bit disappointed.
Do you think I could just swap the connectors? I mean...it has three wires, I don't see why not.

here, I scanned a photo of the connectors....it's obvious they are different, the 422 is fatter and it has a lip on one side...and the 311 has no lip and thinner. why they have to make different 3 wire connectors is beyond me....wish they were universal. i was really expecting them to be the same as they are both hitec.

I gave it a shot, and cut off the lip then filed it smooth with a nail filer...but it still was slightly too fat...so i filed more down on the other side...and finally got it to fit....the metal part is showing inside the connector on the other side but it does fit...and it seems to be working now, so I guess it will do.

I got the hull today, and took some photos. The hatch door isn't in the photo, but basically it's just a piece of plywood that covers the hole. I need to figure out what would be the best way to mount it.

how should i mount the motor and rudder system ya think ? plywood and epoxy it to the bottom of the hull, or should i use epoxy as a filler and make it flat inside...etc

ya don't have any photos or the sort...that would show the idea of what ya mean..etc
i tried placing the SLA battery in there just see how well it would fit..etc....and how it's shaped in the hull it sits weird....and the battery is quite big but it does fit if i could figure out how to make it sit flat and maybe use some velcro to keep it in place, etc

you could just use one of these:
http://www.canuckengineering.com/sto...products_id=67
It turns off your radio when you plug the thing in, and then you can start to charge your batts. Originally designed for sailplanes, but as long as it doesn't get too wet, it'll be fine.

i tried to put everything in the boat that will be going in there....the RX, battery, motor, ESC, and servos...also put the propeller in there (still in package)... just to get an idea how im going to arrange it all. i probably will need to cut some of the 14 gauge wires shorter as they might be too long but im not sure on that yet.
