Hi Flyer88

In myopinion, you can try to usedthe Dia-38mm prop,it will be better.

you canchoose smallerpropIf you wanna change prop(more than 2 piece),'cause this waykeep the motor works normally.

This cat can run pretty fast and steadyin straight line. But you need slow down at turning action.

<div>Well I am happy to say that my Genesis is almost up and running well. . . I have just about everything replaced now. RE: Genesis Offshore Brushless RC Twin Hull (1045mm) from HK

After a long wait (Thanks Canada Post) my stuff final came in. I got the new flex drive installed and had a quick 20 minutes to give her a run tonight. I first put my X632 on it and it ran kind of poor, hit only 60kph. I thought it might. So I quickly swapped for my X442 and it ran allot stabler. Speed only increased to about 62kph, though this was in the last minute before LVC kicked in. Both props only got motor temps up to about 130-140F and it has been hot so the lake is warm.

I will try the X445 and see what temps do. Maybe I can push it to the X447. . . I don't know though, the motor is only a feigao 540XL

I am so nervous to push the boat as I don't have any more money if something breaks. It is kind of sucking the fun out of it. All Stock it did 72kmh before it blew up, so I'd like to get back to 72kph but stable and dependable. Then have fun for the rest of the season!<br type="_moz" />

RE: Genesis Offshore Brushless RC Twin Hull (1045mm) from HK

Boy was I wrong about having fun.  Put the boat in the water just to have some fun, now it's dead.  Nice easy run with the X442 on it.  Ran great.  I changed the batteries for a second run and the coils in the damn Feigao are loose!  The wire shifted to the side, shorted on the can and blew my ESC!!!<div>
</div><div>I think I am going to take up digging holes in the back yard with a shovel.  It will be about as fun and cost a lot less!!!</div><div>
</div><div>Guess I am done for the year - again.</div>

Hi si
that esc wont handle 6s and if your using the standard motor that came with it nether will the motor.4s max and run 38mm prop
i got the gensis and made loads of mods, the 1st thing was motor and esc swapped for leopard 4074,2000kv and swordfish 200 amp esc with etti capbank,on 5s,M445 prop,4mm cooling lines
Changed to HOR 3/16 strut and flexi and removed rudder and offset it,servo is 15kg high torque MG,changed the servo mount to HOR,carbon fibre reinforced the hull, repainted it and added some decals

I ordered Genesis too now, after finally killing off my long-lived Frankensteins Surge Crusher.
I ordered it with a Turnigy XK 3674 1650 Kv motor, and will be lifting out the 6s batteries and Turnigy 180A ESC from the old Crusher.
Any thoughts on propeller selection?
Is the running hardware good enough, or do i have to replace that aswell?

Any real power will make a mess of the flex cable.  You can just drill out the stock strut and replace the flex cable with a proper 3/16 one.

This is an awesomeone of a kind setup..seems to be doing around 60mph on 5s,ever gps it?...ever ran it up against a motley crew?...i am just wondering how well the genesis handles in rougher water ...very sweet sound also, what kind of run times on 5s 5000 packs? I am trying to decide on this boat or a motley crew very hard choice...but for highest speed potencial this cat can't be beat..again awesome video and mods...thanks craig

Ok so i just got my HK genesis, I have a question for you guys..... the website said it was a 1054 which comes out roughly to a 41" boat it arrived and it is a 900 model which measures just shy of 36" I am super bummed as I was looking forward to the large 41" hull. has anyone else measured theres and what is it. I have already purchased and the following for this boat thinking it was going to be a 41" hull

Purchased:
leopard 4082 1600kv
.187 drive line
seaking 180 amp speed control
octura props (not sure what size yet)
6s setup with 3s 5000mah nano 65-130c x2 in series

Will this be to much for a 36" boat? or should I hit up HK and see why I didn't get a 41" boat

This will be a great setup, good components, With a single motor 8S and 1200kV motor is a very good choice more expensive.
Mine is completelydisassembled , otherto reinforce th hull where powertrims are installed, I will change motor mounts, ball brarings, ...

yes mine is the same 36'' and if you measure to the rudder it is 40 1/2'' i thinks thats normal but your setup would not be a problem with the boat

shrive81 05-04-2012 11:21 AM

RE: Genesis Offshore Brushless RC Twin Hull (1045mm) from HK

ok great... that makes sense that they measure that way.. I am going to take out the flex shaft and replace it with a .187 but flex drive but have to replace the stuff tube and not sure how to secure it after I get the right bend, will just the epoxy going through the hull be good enough?

RE: Genesis Offshore Brushless RC Twin Hull (1045mm) from HK

Hi bud
I gps'd it at 54.8 mph on 5s,could of propped up aswell no problem
Offsetting the rudder made a huge difference in handling no end,i ran 3s &amp; 2s 5000mah 30c,in series and could get 4mins +
I like the genesis and would build another in time

Ok so i did some more digging and decided on gong with a 240 amp swordfish speed control and and run 8s and 9s..... I would like to be able tot pull 60-70 and i think if I can figure out what prop to run I should be able to get there. I also got some extra cooling intakes and going to use the offset posts for the rudder.....

I'm running mine on 8S. Swordfish 240HV ESC, Leopard 4082 1,600 kV. Octura M545 prop. Best speed so far is 75.5 (vid below is 73.5 run). Check out the pass at 2:00.

well after 2 years and about 52 holes dug in my yard :)(put in a fence, just over 400' of it) I think I may give this another go.<div>
</div><div>I am looking at the Leopard 4092 and the Turnigy 180A again.</div><div>
</div><div>My LiPo's are Turnigy 5.8 2s,  I am trying to decide if /i should go with the "2080 Kv/rpm per volt 2.5D" and run 4s, or go for either the "1390 Kv/rpm per volt 2Y" or "1480 Kv/rpm per volt 3.5D" on 6s.  The 6s using 3 of my lipo's in series, or 2 in series for 4s.</div><div>
</div><div>I would like to go 6s and get longer run times, but am nervous to push the esc to it's max volts.</div><div>
</div><div>What do you think? is that motor overkill?  I just want to be able to dependably run about 45mph all day long.</div>
