Default Dual Water Outlet Mod Walbro h20 pump

I tried searching, I can't seem to remember how the post was labeled... [&o] Does anyone have a link or the info on how to mod the Walbro WIP-1 pump to add the second water outlet/output? For anyone who's done the mod, does adding the second outlet/output decrease the output from the primary/original outlet?

Thanks,
MKM

I do remember a post like that, but all you have to do is drill #25 hole where the other arrow is that is not used and tap with a 10-24 tap. You can do inlet and outlet with no problem.

aha! a picture really is a thousand words... so you actually added 1 additional inlet and outlet, vs. just adding another outlet. Do you happen to have a side profile shot of the pump so I can see height wise where you tapped it?

Thanks!![8D]

Quick update- I tested a new WIP-1 pump with this mod and it works great! Plenty of water from both outputs. Makes me wonder why no one offers a pump already setup like this? Anyway thanks for the help/pics! [8D]

hello, I know it’s a long shot as this thread is so old but I can’t find any more info. I have this same pump and would like to add a 2nd outlet to it so I can have one supply the cylinder and the other supply the exhaust manifold. Does the additional outlet go on the same “level” as the original one?

What kind of boat are you planning on installing this in? Generally speaking, nitro and gas fueled boats don't really need a pump since water is pushed through the cooling system by the boat moving forward. The exception to this is if the boat has a clutch so that it can stop while the engine is running. A clutched boat, when sitting still, doesn't have any pressure pushing water through the cooling system unless it has a pump to pull water into the system

yes, I’m running a mono hull with a clutch. I wanted to have “Fresh water” hit the cylinder as well as the exhaust manifold. I did the mod this morning. Works like a charm. So now I have 1 inlet and 2 outlets. What’s your opinion on hose routing. Currently I have one pump outlet going through the cylinder then to the exhaust where the pip connects to the header and out. The other water outlet is dedicated to the exhaust flange since I figured that would have the highest temps. When I feel the water at each outlet the exhaust flange water is still cool when it comes out. The other is warm.

The temperatures make sense, considering that the hottest place is the head. As long as the water isn't hot, you should be good

Hm I figured the exhaust flange would be the hottest. Clearly isn’t. Maybe because the surface area of the cylinder.
