Heres a short clip of Gaz,s boat from Sunday clocked at 50 mph with a 470 2 blade prop i believe, should pick up quite a bit of speed with his new 7015/3 when he gets chance to try her out but i think 50 is very respectable for theis size hull.

Mart, Why would you choose music over the sweet sound that baby is making[sm=confused.gif][sm=disappointed.gif][sm=disappointed.gif] Looks fast and stable.

I have been looking to try a 7015/3 on mine, from what I have been told it's the choice prop for my setups. I'm running a 6717/3 to push my two Apaches into the low 50's, 51-54mph.

Cheers,
Leo

Hey, not sure what you have available in Italy. Check your kitchen or bath cabinet section in your local hardware store. I guess we have it pretty easy here in the states with Home Depot and Lowes on every corner....

I guess I should have stated that they have SS and Ali versions of the stuff. I wouldn't have mentioned it if they didn't. Ooh and don't forget to replace the screws with SS version. Most of the time they are not when purchased with the cabinet handle.

Hey martno1fan,

Don't know if you have finally decided names for your hulls...but maybe you can call one of them Comanche. Which is another type of Indian if you don't want to name them Apache's!

Hi Nige,
good to hear, im going to install plywood tounges to the front and ill dremmela cpl of slots for them you can also use ali round bar or dowels etc, the rear will get a cpl of niodym magnets and ill see how they work out,if they dont ill get some cowl locks, might go with o ring types as they release in a flip and dont damage the hatch.Post a few pics of your build id like to see it ,Simons picking his up tomorrow so you might have someone to play with .

Isn't that bend on the stuffing tube too sharp?

I was thinking the same thing. Also hope there is more support being added further along the tube.

Looks good to me Nige just be aware steel pipes get hotter than ali so you will want plenty of air cooling in and out usually ratios 1 in 3 out.
Scott why does he need more support he has a t bar at the motor end and the other end goes into the strut and i asume he will seal the hole at the trasom with silicone more than enough support.
Mart
ps spoke to Simon last night all his bits came so hes hoping to get her built this weekend ,no doubt with your help lol

Just seems like a lot of brass after the T-bar that could potentially sling around. It will probably be good enough, however Iwould add another support somewhere in the middle for peace of mind, but hey... not my build. Overall looks the beginning of a good build.

Hi Scott
id say theres maybe 16" of tube there maybe less ,not that much when you consider how much hydros have hanging underneath ,mine had arround 24" maybe more unsupported under the hull so im sure it will be just fine.

I only support my stuffing tube by the T-bar on my race monos, never been an Issue. I know plenty of racers that do the same thing, it makes it easy to adjust the stinger height up & down without having to worry about stuffing tube alignment. My cats & Hydros are supported at the exit of the hull & in the strut, but they are a lot longer.

Same here mate thats how i do it,that said on this one i have the tube into the strut and ill just silicone up the hole in the transom which is a slot up and down to allow adjustments.Which reminds me Nige did you make yours a slot it makes adjustments easy .
Mart
ps everyone has his her way of doing things and thats fine im just saying how i do it,but do whatever works for you .If more support makes you happier then do it all id do is get some ply cut a slot at the bottom of the vee that slips over the tube so it cant move side to side, just be sure to cut a cpl of tiny slots for any water to get through to the transom for drainage to the bailers if your using any,i normally drill a cpl of holes just bellow deck level so i can upend the boat to drain any water out .
