I don't know if Steve is still doing prop work or not, you'd have to contact him.
Try it yourself, it really isn't that hard. The first one is always the scariest then you find out how easy it is. Take the tips from the prop sticky and try it.

There are no props available that are pre-balanced and sharpened. If there were and this done correctly, they would cost a fortune.
Our new AQU/Grim 40x53 works very well on the SV27 Nitro as does the 40x52/3. You can bolt these directly on and not have to balance and sharpen. These are the only metal props on the market you can do this with and not have it vibrate your drive system out of your hull
However, it is always better to take the steps to exactly balance your prop and sharpen.
Props should be available before the end of the month with full set of balance and sharpening instructions on our AQU website.

Have fun!

Do any of those need to be sharpened and balanced?

heres my sv27...the quality of the hull is great, only one real flaw and that was a little bubble on the tip of the nose...but its no big deal...other than that its great!

To anyone here that has the SV27 in electric and nitro, is there any chance we could see a vid of them both running together? From what I have seen in induvidual videos it seams like the electric is faster. It would be interesting to see a side by side test.

Give us about 9 days as we're going to try just that very thing at the Fun Run. We will make a video of it. Both boats won't have much in the way of mods to try to keep it even. So far on mine I've taken off the left turn fin, added a modded one to the right which I can easily put the stocker back on and I'll run a different prop.

I'm planning to do more prop testing tomorrow. I have a full X437/3 I want to try along with a bunch of other props. Now, if I can just remember to toss the radar gun in the truck before going to the lake.

There was an orange SV27 nitro on Tower's scratch & dent this morning. Box damage only. Asking price was $238. That and a white Vegas that was missing the hatch locks and hardware, but was only $189, seem to have got gone quickly. Factor in the $30 discount on each order and those were pretty good deals.

Just returned from testing the SV 27 Nitro. For some reason, our club's radar gun has a problem picking up the boat heading at the gun(stealth maybe?). The best radar speed we got was 35 mph with the M440. However, I was running the boat around with a MV that we had consistant 36 mph readings on and the SV was slightly faster. I was running 30% O'Donnell's Boat.

With the M440, the ride was fast and loose. I then replaced the M440 with a X437/3. The speed seemed to be the same, but the ride was more stable. Because the radar gun wasn't much use, I didn't try other props. However, most competition vee hulls run 3/blade props so I'm going to try some variations of the X437/3 next time.

I'm also going to try stuffing 6 - 8 oz. of lead under the radio box platform to see if the added weight will help stabalize the ride. Back in the mid 80s when I was racing a Prather 21 Vee, we had 8 oz. of lead in the bottom of that boat and it really helped.

I have to keep my eye out them then. I'm realy digging this boat.I have a gut feeling this might be my first boat to get. But I see that is boat might have a cooling issues?I see that there one water inlet for cooling the motor and header. Why wasnt there two of them? One for the header and the other for the motor? I'd seen pics of other boats with twins cooling inlets. PS if the water is to bad to run a hydro,You know who would steal my boat to run.

Motorhead, I've been running mine "topless" but ran it with the hatch on for the videos. I didn't see anyn difference in the running of it as I did expect it to run differently because of the heat under it..
I too was looking for a good spot to add foam under the hatch but there really isn't a lot of area to put any.

I cut a noodle at 12" length and then 1/4 long ways. I put 1 1/4 down the open side outside the stringer. It works well there

Misshydro is using Pennzoil marine grease nlgl grade#2 premium plus multi-purpose grease. It has salt water protection and wont wash out plus has corrosion prevention. You can get that at your Local auto parts store.

I recently just bought the SV nitro and I took it for a few spins this past weekend and I am very impressed. I had the brushless version before and the nitro is like glue on the water compared to the other. I want to get every bit of speed possible out of the thing. My question to you guys is what are the best suggested props for this boat? I am looking for the boat to stay tight on the water and possibly gain some speed. I saw a couple of posts about some props but it didn't get really specific. It seemed to me a trial and error deal. If you could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Doesn't Australia use AM radio? If so would the stock am radio work? Could it be as simple as crystals for a fix? Just grabbing at straws here

Finished setting up Australia about 2 weeks ago for the SV27 Nitro. Should be receiving shipments about the end of June, radios will be on 29mhz. We cannot ship product to the land down under on 75mhz

Thanks,
Rw

Default RE: Aquacraft Super-Vee 27 Nitro.

Ran the SV 27 with 8 oz. of lead stuck under the radio box. The added weight coupled with adjustments to the trim tabs provided a much better straightaway ride. I "cupped" the out side corners of the tabs downward slightly. Making a WOT corner is still an adventure. I'm going to try lowering the rudder on the transom to see if a deeper rudder will help improve the cornering. Prop was the full X437/3 and 30% fuel. I didn't have the radar gun, but the boat was definitely running 35/37 mph.
