Airtronics Radio Support

Call them and tell them you want one here on RCU like all the other manufacturers have...when I asked they weren't interested. Guess 37,000 registered members aren't enough for them....maybe in a year when we are at 70,000?

I love the radios, but like a friend of mine, I do not know how long I will stick with them if they don't want to listen to their customers. Dual Rates on a rudder might not mean anything to them, but it means a lot to the guys on the field that could use it. I am still training, and mainly bought the radio because the instructor I chose had it and recommended it. He is now selling all his stuff and going with the JR8103. He said it was because Airtronics does not listem to customer requests and if they keep doing it, soon they will loose a lot more people like him who get fed up. I bought a nice package with a RD600Super and a VG400, trainer cord, 16 servos, 2 92777 recievers, 2 chargers, all for $300.00. I love the radio and think I will have it for a long time.
I will call them, probably with no result, but who knows?

This was their response:
Hello,
Any questions or support issues you may have you can come right to our website to get anwsers. There are hundreds of boards out there. Just anwsering email here takes tons of time. We have choosen not to post on any public boards due mostly to time and the fact that people are rather crude on public boards.
Thank you,
Brian Tucker
Well I tried! Maybe if enough people email them, they will not have a choice.

Airtronics has a very small staff in Anaheim, California so its understandable that they do not have time to field e-mail answers although I think it wold be in their interest to do so.
Perhaps Jack Albrecht who mans their help line might be interested?

Airtronics doesn't seem to have an effective marketing department. The hardware is great, from what I've heard the support is great, but the marketing? It's so poor that it might as well be non-existant. Their ads in the mags don't tell you about any advantage their product might offer.
I can't imagine a company passing on an opportunity to provide support (and marketing exposure) in a way such as this, particularly when their competitors have built such an effective online presence. If you're not moving ahead, you're falling behind.

Mikel,
I do agree. I guess in all fairness, when asked a question they are there to give answers. I would still prefer them to open a forum here and only here. It is the largest RC forum I have found anywhere and seems to be the best.
Maybe if enough people respond to this thread, we can tell them and they will take a new look at it.

apply pressure on them...maybe they will change their mind.
perhaps they should take notice that the 3 largest rc radio companies, Futaba, JR and Hitec all have the support and marketing savvy to come to the largest gathering of RC fanatics here at RCU. You have to support your customers where they are. Based on their reply I guess Airtronics got it right in their opinion and all the other radio company's got it wrong. go figure...my offer stands to them should they decide to change their mind.
