Very nice looking. I like the red. I might be a little nervous getting something from a manufacturer that I have never heard of though. You are brave to invest over $100 without knowing much about the product. Let us know how it goes. I have they fly smooth because they look very smooth. Looks like good stuff to me.

RC-Tek makes an entire heli that uses that head. In fact, they make two models: the Diablo (red anodizing) and the Sky Shark (gray anodizing). You'll see Scott from RC-Tek actively participating in the RCGroups.com forums and there's an entire thread on the Diablo and Sky Shark that currently has 1194 posts.

I ordered a "B-stock" Diablo from them Thursday evening and it shipped on Friday; the "B-stock" has minor imperfections in the anodizing and/or canopy, so RC-Tek knocked $100 off the price. Being a newbie, I figure I'll bang it up anyway, so I considered it a good deal. It's scheduled to arrive on Wednesday.

The main thing that sets the Diablo/Sky Shark head apart is the overslung flybar, which puts the main rotor further down the shaft, increasing stability. The heli they sell has a top-mounted motor; as a result, the horizontal center of gravity is higher, which reportedly makes rolls and flips happen more quickly.

I noticed the head has the flybar "overslung", like my blade cp. I am kinda anxious to see if there is any difference in how it flys with the overslung fly bar, instead of the underslung bar.

I personally like the looks of the overslung.

I did some poking around before I ordered, and they sure seem legite I would have gotten the underslung head, had I seen it there. I am betting it doesnt make much difference.

The price seems very good on all the stuff. If you notice they have a ARF 450SA in plastic, for 89 bucks [X(]

Smokin deal here too. http://www.rc-tek.com/us_store/phant...bly-p1762.html

Here is the phantom, at 90 bucks.

I can't speak from personal experience, but the buzz 'on the street' is that the RC-TEK Diablo is a quality machine, and RC-TEK is reputable. They have good 'word of mouth' all over the place, so I would be willing to try them out...

Finless Bob is also going to be doing a review on the Diablo soon. He's already started the thread over on helifreak, but there's not much info there yet. I am anxious to see what he has to say about it...

I am hoping so. Everything seems pretty good, everything I found on the net. Scott appears to be someone who is really trying to make a go at it. I know how that feels, and sometimes things fall thru.

I truly dont think I will be disapointed.

Well well. I got my parts in 3 days. They ARE grade A+ without a doubt. AND, Scott obviously goes out of his way to do the little things for his customers. Been along time since I have had the littlest of things extra done for me as a consumer, and scott read a thread I had posted, bummed out I didnt order a part I needed. IT WAS IN THE BOX HE SENT ME!!!!!!!! (thats how I know he read it..LOL)

This guy is grade A+, and he has earned my business from now on. Everyone who wants metal cnc parts, this is the place to get them.

Once again, I was treated above and beyond by him. Kudos Scott.

Thank you

Larry

My Diablo was just delivered and I will echo LDGILLS sentiments. I've only just completed a quick inspection of the contents of the package, but the attention to detail is just astounding.

1. The motor already has the bullet plugs installed. I had just ordered a set of bullet connectors and sockets, expecting to have to install both ends. Now I'll only need to solder the sockets onto the ESC wires after cutting them to the proper length and have some spare bullet plugs.

2. I knew the case was going to be full-sized, but I never imagined that it would be big enough to fit my transmitter or that there would be an area precut in the foam for the transmitter. It fits my DX7 like a glove, although I may have to do some minor modifications to keep the antenna clear of the servo-swash links. Fantastic!

The only blemish I've found thus far on the heli that would qualify the heli as B-stock is a scratch on the boom clamp. Since that surface will be covered by the gyro, I consider it a non-issue. I really got a bargain on this heli (with my $100 discount)!

Great work, RC-TEK!
