I believe I've tried everything.......When i'm at a hover the tail is wagging back and forth.......not enough wag to prevent me from hovering though. I have adjusted my gain back and forth on my DX7 and flew with full batts to make sure the ESC is working fine, but it still waggs. I noticed that the tail boom looks very slightly bent to the left when looking from the rear but not very noticible unless you really look at it. The other thing I also did was opened my DX7 and played with the notch bar on the throttle/yaw stick(left stick), when you move the stick up and down there is notches in the feel of the stick, I flipped it around to the smooth side, and loosened it up. Maybe this is the problem? Over all the tail waggs and seems a bit glitchy in the throttle and acceceleration..... any ideas would be helpfull. Thanks in advance!

First you should check if you have too much gain. You said you played with it, but bring it lower until you see if it stops. How low did you reach on the gain ?
Second, if this doesn't work, well maybe you can check that first anyway, but look if the slider moves freely along the boom. If it finds difficulty somewhere it could create this issue .The servo must be really free to move.

is it possible that a bad one way bearing might be causing it?, I did a test were I hold on to the tail rotor and spin the main rotor to see if the belt was slipping but what I got was some play in the main rotor, it turned a bit with out the gears turning or the tail rotor.......this is a new one for me! lol

95% of tail wagging is from a vibration issue, power it up with no blades [main or tail] and check it out.

at the end.Removing the tail blades will of course get rid of the wag problem ...

Removing the battery will too

I removed both main and tail rotor blades, and the wagg is still present but only at higher rpms.....my main and auto-rotation gear are both warped, maybe this is it? Maybe I should play with the gain on the acutal gyro it self instead of my DX7?

ok, so just returned home from flying today and I think I have narrowed my problem down to my ESC, its a stock align 35A esc and I have read that people have problems with them. It just seems that my rotor rpms are very in-consistant and varied. If this is the case what ESC do people usually install as an upgrade? thanks in advance!

reprogram the esc.
and if you have vibration at high rpm without blades theres your problem, by adding blades your just magnifying it.
i just had a bad pinion gear that caused a huge wag problem and was diagnosed the same way.

put the tx to full throttle in normal mode and you will here the programming beeps. youll have to have a linear throttle curve setup too.
look for the align site and get the directions for the rest its to long to post.

The pressure fit aluminum pulleys front or back could be slipping as well; rotate the main rotor while holding the tail rotors tight and see if there is even the tiniest amount of slippage. If there is, then You need to loctite them number 608, I believe.
It would DEFINATELY cause the problem. This will also rule out that You have the belt too loose, as it will click.

yeah thanks! the belt is fine and I am really having problems with my esc making the motor very erratic and causing the heli to do weird things.....looks like its another $100 for an esc.
