Default Chipmunk rudder pull pull

Hi

I want to convert my CG Super Chipmunk Rudder to pull pull -
I am not sure if I should run the wires straight to the tail wheel
torque rod or route them through cables to the rudder.

Any suggestions ??

Cables to the rudder.

I use the dubro system and use some yellow inner Sullivan inner nyrod for exits on the pull -pull systems that way I don't worry about lining up the cable from the servo to the rudder. System has worked for me with no problems.

Thanks

My post should have been clearer - it is the lining up of the cables that is a problem.

Does the inner nyrod wear ?

I have a Fun Aero 1/5 scale SE5A all the pull=pull cables 2 on rudder and 4 on elevator were done using the inner nyrod method. Been flying the airplane for 2 yrs there has been no sign of wear to date. Same goes for my 1/4 scale Champ.

Thanks r1morris

I will go this route - a straight route to the rudder is very difficult
on the chipmunk.

When you install the inner yellow nyrod use some length like 4 to 6 inches inside the fuse I found that it's easier to run the cable and does not create any friction that I can detect. it also makes it easy to work on the pull -pull system when needed.

Another Q: Are you using metal cable or Kevlar?

I have used nylon coated metal cable with nyrod inner
to route it around the bend.

I use whatever Dubro uses in their Pull-pull system and have never had a problem. Pull -pull systems and not strung bow tight so it's not like installing a saw blade. I little positive tension goes a long way.
