Default COCKPIT COAMING MATERIAL

Hello folks,

I tried to use fuel line tubing but I could not cut a line straight enough so it looks really bad. Short of buying what is offering on market, what else can I use? I will use this on a park flyer WW1 Fokker DVII. Thanks DP

I have the Fokker D7 from Great planes. I used a windshield washer tubing from NAPA. It cost me all of 2 bucks.
Then I took a block a wood and drilled a whole the same size OD as the tubing.. then glue an #11 blade to the block so it would split the tube in open. ran the tube through the block pressto.. the tube is split up. Then with some clear silcone i had just glued to the plane.
not sure if you can see it this picture.

Windshield washer tubing too.

I pin it down after stretching it
a bit. Then use my trust # 11
blade.

Super glue sticks to latex tubing as good as skin. Sig carries 1/8" ID latex and the fishing tackle shops carry various sizes, even in black.

Hi,

I went to auto part stores and the smallest size is 3/32" which is too big on my GP Fokker DVII (park flyers). Anywhere else I can find the size half that? DP

not sure if you can see it this picture.
That looks to be the right size of the tubing. What size is that please? DP

Hope you are not cutting the Tubing in half ?

Just one slit lenght wise is what you want.

Yea Bob I use the blade with block tool just to split the tube open.
I go to NAPA go to the bulk hose section.. It my store... NAPA DAN keeps it behind the counter. I have used some 1/8th If you cant find it a NAPA you might check some place that sells air tools/ airbrush supplies.
