Default Need help with gyros

My build doesnt fit in this category but the help I need does. I know alot of planes use gyros to stabolize the plane etc. and what I'm trying to do is stabolize a cannon on a RC Tank. I'm thinking I can use a gyro but Ive been looking around and cant find much more then how there used in airplanes and helicopters. I want to make it so that as the tank is moving over rough terrain the cannon will always stay level pointing in the direction you had it last. Any ideas or direction to help? Thanks

You would have to position the gyro on its side so it measured up and down instead of side to side, it would also have to be mounted in the turret. You would then need one in the tank to keep the turret in the correct rotation. You may have to use one that has what is called tail lock as it will when set will try to keep the chopper in the same direction. Good luck.

Cheers
