I have a three car garage and the third garage is for my planes. It is nice to have some room to build and work on the planes. I had a corner of a garge at my old house. this is like living in a dream world.
I am trying to talk my wife into letting me build a pole barn but that isn't going so well. LOL Oh well at least I have some room right now. By the way the workshops are looking great guys. I am jealous. |

It's not much but it will have to do until I can move off base. Pretty much a shop with a bed.

RE: Let's see your work shop!
I'd like to see my workshop too. It's got too much stuff in it, but don't let on to the Wife.:D I held a general housecleaning a couple of weekends ago, and couldn't believe all the stuff that I found that I had forgotten about. Ever find a couple of bottles of CA that turned solid in the container? I also found a couple of #2 wasers that grew wings while trying to install, and a half dozen E-clips that had rocket assist when they flew from the shaft, where I was trying to install them. I found that missing wing rib from my Waco that I'm building, so now the wing won't be a little longer on one side.

Here's what my friends call my shop waiting room (1st pic). It's actually a clean room for electronics because I do a lot of wood working in the shop. I did install a vacuum system and most of the machines are on wheels, a must!
And, my shop where the magic happens. I'd like more room but it seems to work. I built an 8' observatory dome in it. If you like the dome, he's the link for construction: http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/550511533ICdPnP I can't forget Kitty. He wants to know when we're going to finish the Sopwith! |

Well I finally am almost moved in a 100% into the new shop which is in the new home the wife and I had built 2 years ago. Yeah it took that long to get into the shop because of all the other things that needed doing around the new home. So here is a few shots of the the new digs; hopefully I can get started on finishing a few of the projects you see in the pictures.

RE: Let's see your work shop!
I'm contemplating buying/building a new home, and one bedroom will be my shop (no questions asked:D). Right now we live in a two bedroom apartment and one bedroom is the shop (full bath and walk-in closet), but it already feels small. I'm hoping that better planning and wall mounted workbenches will keep the new room from feeling small too. What kind of suggestions do any of you have for flooring, walls and lighting? The lot will be too small for an outbuilding.

This is my Crib, my model storage and "look at" area.
I take them out and move them to an 4' x 8' bench, which is in a another area in my windowless basement, when I get the desire to do a bit more work on them. That's not often enough. My process is slow but fun. I concentrate on many instead of one. Yes, I know. That is a problem, just don't tell me. Charles www.cfcgraphics.com |

RE: Let's see your work shop!
I love looking at all your shops...This is mine. It will have to do till I get around to building a shed in the back yard. It's my half of the garage, my truck sits in the driveway.
I had to put in some new electrical in the garage to make sure I had enough juice for the bench. Hardwired the light in, and have 2 powerstrips (one on each side). It still a work in progress, I have a rolling toolchest right behind the chair that all my hand tools are so I can turn around and grab what I need. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...rkbench002.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...rkbench001.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...rkbench003.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...rkbench004.jpg |

RE: Let's see your work shop!
I think everyone visiting this page might also enjoy another site, garagejournal dot com. It's pretty much a forum dedicated to shops... there's just generally more metal, and less wood. Anyway, it's great for some ideas you might want to implement. WARNING: some of these guys go WAY overboard, you'll love it!
