RE: 1/6 SCALE TWIN OTTER BUILD
Here's a cross section. Lots of info is found on Sea Plane Supply's website on finishing, strengthening, and covering. I'll probably order both wheels and float main gear at the same time from TNT. I'll just have to figure out the size of gear for the float version going off the wipaire service manual mostly.

Looking at the vids on youtube, it looks like a very strong and responsive engine. I still want to try to go electric if possible!

gblas, do you mind sharing the dimensions you sent to TNT for your gear so I can compare? Would you change any of your dimensions? No rush, as I won't be ordering the gear for awhile yet, I'm going to order the nose gear first around August 1st. Damn budgets! As much as I don't want to return to work August 15th, it'll be nice having more spending $$$ again!

lins, i will get the measurements for you. what i did is measure directly off the plans for the wire gear and just made sure all the dimensions matched those...it is made of 1/4" thick aluminum...i can tell you if you bend this gear on landing you have done more damage than just the gear....very strong... thats why i made it fully enclosed, there shouldnt be any reason to have to remove it

here is how i chose to run the fuel lines...filling of the fuel tanks will be from the bottom of the pylon with the filler ports close to to the carbs.the filler line is the one that runs down towards the bottom..they will not be visible from a top view...and the fuel tanks are going to be mounted inside the fuselage...not to worry the carbs on this engine will easily draw fuel from tanks in the fuse...its a non issue...thats the beauty of engines with the carbs having thier own pump..one of the many reasons i went to all gas engines...

outer wing panels ready for the bottom skin. i used 1/64 ply for the wing trailing edge gap between the the ailerons. it is very easy to get it to conform to the trailing edge curve.plus there isnt much room between them so it should work very well. they were installed slightly oversized and will be sanded to fit after bottom wing skin is installed
