What size motors are you using. Did you change the tanks to the necessels? Did you put washout in the wing tips? I just purchased a partial built Royal C-47 I don't have the wing plan. I have most of it ready to glass but the wing, itis built but not the necessels. Thanks Rich

I didn't start to build mine yet, but I plan to use 2 OS FS-40 (old ones).

Hi!
Mine is powered with two OS Fs .26 engines and has power to spare. Actuall flying is done with 1/3 throttle.
Weight is 3,6 kg and I use my own made carbon fiber 10x4,5, 3-blade props. I have also made my own glass fiber engine cowls.
Yes! I have wash-out in the tips...how much? Well I guess around 1,5-2 degrees.-Just made it so it looked about right!
DC-3 is covered with chrome Oracover plastic film but prior to this the whole fuselage is covered with 25 g glassfiber and 24 hour laminating epoxy. All spackling is done with brown microballoons and 24 hour epoxy.
Engine cowls and some parts on the fuselage is covered in alumium tape (duct tape) wet sanded on a piece of glass.I also wet sanded the Oracover stripes prior toputting them on the fuselage.
I think .40 four strokes will be way to much power and also too heavy!

I don't get it; TopFlite was selling the kit with OS 48's as recommended powerplants.. The plane is identical to the Royal as has I had both at one time. The TF wingspan was within 1/2 inch shorter than the Royal. How do you pull it off with an engine out?

Sunday I fiberglassed the plane. also made indi windows with my homemade vaccume. The plane weighs 5 1/4 lbs without motors or radio. I can now use 8 oz tanks in the necessels. I did away with the beam mount that was showed in the plans and made a 1/4 ply flush mount,
