I doubt that silvercan will touch a proper BL setup.. I am thinking the 4600kv on 2S with some proper gearing will be faster.. !!

The upside down brake thing would move all the linkages to the "lower" deck, ie free up alot of space on the upper chassie plate.

Sound like a bit of work for a little added space. I think I'll pass on that for now unless there more to it then that. I dont seem to have any space issues as of yet. Wouldent it be moe a pain if you had to make any break adjustments and such???

Yeah, hard to make adjustment on the brake (if you ever need it), no?! [sm=omg_smile.gif]

Your Blizzard is too light so you want to weight it down a little bit with those aluminum wheels?! [sm=wink_smile.gif]

Great news on getting the Blizzard Turd. So what did you decide to use for elec's? Those rims look awsome, wish I could read German too. Looks like theres a few other mods made to that bad boy as well......

Actually received the Blizzard yesterday, and my electronics will be here Friday, I ended up going with the Futaba 2PL, with ESC, just something basic for now.
While I was waiting for everything to show up I got anxious and blew a little more money on another truck. They've got Tamiya Mighty Bull's on sale at The Source for $225, expert built RTR, so I was playing with that in the snow yesterday! :P

So I received all my new gear, got it put together, minus painting the body, so I can finally understand what you guys have been talking about how touchy the brakes are. I've managed to adjust the steering sensitivity down to 40% on my radio, but its still tricky to drive well. Seeing the mods using brake pads, I had an idea of an easier way to make them. Instead of cutting the material to the exact size of the metal shoe, why not make the brake pads like the do on regular cars, and just make them a bit smaller width wise, so you don't have to worry about making the holes for the bolts? Also, what would be a good material to make the pads out of?
Similar to this I guess:

I was going to try using some of my old disc brake pads from my mountain bike. I have a couple different compounds to choose from. I would just have to cut the to the right shape and drill a few holes.

Kyosho 777/MP09 brake liners are direct bolt ons. No need to drill anything. Cheap too.

If you really want to go all out. Pretty all the upgraded composite disks, slotted brake disks etc for the Inferno will fit. Except you would be paying up to $30 for a set disks.

Those oucastrc pads should be good for silver can. Those $5 pads I bought makes it possible to do pivot turns with the 4600kv motor.

The reason that I even run pads, though, was to less than the braking power... so locking the brake is never the problem.. (since you are only braking one side at a time) The pad mod is really to offer more modulation..

Did you have problem locking one side when not running the pads?!

'Bout 14" of almost powder here, but at 9 deg F and a wind, I'm not too hot on going out there. My shop window is to small to drive from .. lol

It's just very inconsistent without it. Not a smooth pivot. I think the brakes were fading with the mamba.

Ran my Blizzard a little bit today.. not as fun as the snow has hardened.. more like ice than powder snow now..

Still fun, though...

Wow, today I didn't expect this. Got it today at Christmas. Saw it wrapped in blue and white wrappings. Was wondering what it was since it was pretty big of a box. Was pretty surprise, when I unwrapped it. It's the GP version of the Blizzard. So cool! But I'm surprise it wasn't really 90% assemble like the EP version. Will build it soon I guess.

BTW, Merry Christmas everyone!
