Looks good Lunchboxer I like the blue it looks great. Oh also nice porsche what you got in the other side of the garage a Ferrari
I have a 23 turn motor in mine. How much faster would it be with a 12 turn?

Thanks! Yeah, those foam = easy to install.. as they come w/ self-adhesive on the back.. you just peel off the cover and apply!!
(they are automotive foam.. used for interior vent sealing, etc.)

LOL, thanks! Yeah, GT3 isn't the best vehicle for the winter (no traction control nor stability control, hardcore! ha! ) So I just drive Blizzard around when there's snow..
Depends on what kind of 12T.. it will be pretty quick for sure.. although typically I am not a huge fan of low-turn brushed motors, as they require more maintenance.. if you want all out speed (not sure why you would want that w/ a vehicle like Blizzard! ha!), I'd suggest you go w/ some brushless setup!
Good luck!!

Well, took out the nitro Blizzard today after adjusting the breaks again. Ran 1.5 tanks thru it. I don't think second gear is "enabled" yet, because it does not switch into second. I guess that's okay because the manual says to run 5 tanks thru before switching to second gear anyway. I'm on the third tank. Gonna adjust it now and tune the engine a bit. Smoking quite a bit as well, which if like helis, this is a good thing during the break-in period.

Yeah, the second gear needs adjusting on the 5th or 6th tank. Had done that with mine and was very easy to adjust. The two speed is just amazing. It's awesome seeing a tank like vehicle shifting in speeds. It's really fun with the second gear and it's pretty quick.

5 tanks now. Finally got it to shift into second gear, but she's still slow (I think). Engine needs some tuning for sure now. I made a little video with my iPhone so you could see and hear it. Will post shortly on youtube. In the end of the video, it wouldn't shift into forward or reverse. I though it was stuck in the snow. When I went and grabbed it, brought it over to smooth ground, still wouldn't shift. Finally, it decided to shift into reverse only - doh!

Engine rich? Probably just need to lean it just a tiny bit, if it's still pretty slow in second speed.
The tranny on the GP version is like that sometimes. It's weird a bit, the QRC tranny makes these grinding gears sound, when hitting reverse and forward. It's hard to explain. I'm not quite sure what does it. The tranny needs to getting some use to and will eventually smooth out after many runs. When everything is smooth, it will perform much better and will get faster speeds. But lately, sometimes mine have trouble shifting into reverse now, I think it needs some adjusting. I'm not quite sure what is it.

OKay, here is the video, if you want to call it that I lost the cable to my video camera, so all I have is my crappy iPhone video, but you can still hear the engine anyway. It looks much faster in the video... weird. I'll use my GoPro RC camera for the next video. It is MUCH better quality than a 3G (not S) iPhone.
Ya, I am still tweaking it here and there. Gotta adjust the brakes again too. When I lift it off the table, and open the throttle about 3/4, one track is going pretty good while the other is barely turning. I think much needs to be broken-in i.e.; tray, engine, brakes, etc. I do believe it will get a lot better. If not, a brushless is goin' in it

Okay, camera is mounted to capture pics and video. Will post results this weekend. In case you are wondering, the camera used is this one:

Oh ya, figured out why it wouldn't shift from forward to reverse at the end of that crappy video... The linkage rod came off the shifter because I cut it too short. Made a new rod so it should work fine now.

yup,
Ya, too much work plugging and unplugging the lights with the canopy. Gonna devise some sort of quick connect for the wiring so I don't have to pull the bulbs out overtime I remove the canopy. Looks great with the lights in, but I am just running without for now.

Finally. Here is a video of the Blizzard with the camera mounted on it. It's definitely running better. Still a few more tanks before the engine is fully broke-in and tuned. Video quality is EXCELLENT, on my computer anyway. Not as good of quality on YouTube... about 1/2 as good. At the 3:00 minute mark, I take it into the backyard, which is better.. footage... I guess.

RE: LB Getting Ready for SNOW - Kyosho EP Blizzard DF-300 Thread!
Hi, I was just wondering if any Nitro Blizzard owners on here have attempted fitting a third servo to control the forward and reverse selector seperately to the throttle? I wasn't impressed with the power of the GS-11X that came fitted so I got an electric start .15 fitted; it has been great for power and speed but the low-end extra torque keeps chewing up the QRC box when I switch from forward to reverse and I can't really make any more adjustments to the linkages (without losing top-end) to ensure that the revs stay low whilst the selector changes. There isn't a great deal of room on the chassis, but looking at it, I think that if I remove the throttle linkage, I will be able to lay a third servo down on its side next to the existing ones which can take over throttle duties. If anyone has tried this and has been successful (or otherwise) I'd be greatful if you could give me some pointers. Thanks in advance.

Lol... he's my 8 year old son. It was either let him take out the car or give him the controls to the Blizzard and that's not happening until I'm done playing with it
he also took out his nitro firestorm, 2-wheel drive, but it sucked so bad that he didn't even get one tank out of it. Ya let's see some monster truck vids man! Can it go where the blizzard can go?

Here's a short vid of my Blizzard running a little bit through tire tracks. The cab came off so I decided it looked like a chicken running around with it's head cut off. I have since reinforced cab & front of body with fiberglass (corners were breaking out) so now it can't come off anymore. [link]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iV7OthmP4EM[/link]

Nice.. got ya..
Because you can buy those silver wheels by themselves, I just thought maybe you retrofitted them or something..
Anyway, it looks good!!
