My Next Goal: Battery Storage
for my battery Iím going to be using a 5Ah Hexfly 7.2 Volt NiMH with the redcat racing banana connector. The battery should fit almost perfectly beneath the seat with the current batter walls cut off (Picture 1). It can go through the back of the seat for easy access. (Picture 2)

Update:
decided to upgrade the back suspension to replace the torsion springs. I used the same realtree monster truck shocks for now, but could be easily upgraded to oil filled in the future
1)view from bottom
2)closer look

Stock pinion:
does anyone have any recommendations on how to get the stock pinion gear off so you can remove the motor?

I just ordered some oil-filled shocks, they should be here next week sometime. I’ll see if they are any good.

I might purchase Pascal Robert’s deep snow kit, he just released one for the ski-doo model. You can check it out at rccreations.shop

Winter is coming up again. I have added the oil filled shocks and they seem to work pretty well

Itís been awhile, my biggest problem has been getting the stock pinion off. I have gotten it off. If any of you were wondering how to take it off, this is what I did. 1. Grab the motor in a table vice. 2. Grab hand held vice and grasp pinion gear. 3. Pull. I am waiting for my 1:10 electronics to try to fit currently,

I managed to get a 550 motor mounted to the stock gearbox, it took some drilling and some cutting with a dremal, those washers are for a more secure fit as the screws are slightly too long.

i have my esc mounted on the side, itís a tight fit, but there is no room up top because of the very large 550 motor.

I reinforced the gearbox with some super glue, and mounted a piece of scrap aluminum to mount a servo to.

I am currently waiting for my pinion gears and servo that should be here tomorrow. As I only had a 21 tooth 48p pinion around which was way to big. I ordered a set from 13t to 16t so I can mess around a bit. I ordered a micro server that puts out 3.8kg which should hopefully be enough to turn the skis.

i hope the gearbox holds up, if it doesnít then Iíll have to get a new motor, because this one is way too low of turns to have a 4.1:1 ratio.
