Default G62 mounting

i download and was looking at the instructions on engine mounting and of course there are pictures using the g62 in the manual. i was just wondering if a piece of plywood is required not only to steady the g62 when mounting it but to push it forward a little so it will fit onto the cowl correctly? if a piece of plywood is required, how thick? in case this matters, i plan on buying the B&B specialties packing including the mount, muffler, spring starter, etc.

Yes, 1/4" ply should do it.

Quick question for people with a G62. A guy at my field has the 300LX with a G62 in it, but he can't get a lot of throw out of the rudder servos. He has what looks like the bar for a DuBro HD pull-pull set up and the DuBro HD long servo arms. Are you guys using something different or just a longer aluminum servo arm to get enough throw? What's your set up?

I'm using the Dubro HD pull-pull set up, and a 2 1/2" long arm on my servo. I wish I had a bit more throw for knife edge loops. If you can get a hold of a 3" arm, I would go with that. In doing so, I think your cables would line up better in the slots of the fuse where they exit at. Mine rub the sides just a tad, no matter if I cross them or not.

Well, with the G62, you mount the rudder servo's in the tail to help balance the plane. My friend with the G62 has his servo's mounted in the tail and with the tiller bar on the rudder, you can't get enough throw. I guess he should try one of the servo city sets instead of a DuBro tiller.
